Historia
Zo Grey is reeling from the sudden death of her mother when she receives a surprising call from an attorney in Divinity, Louisiana, with the news she has been left an inheritance by a distant relative, the terms of which he will only discuss in person. Destitute and alone, with nothing left to lose, Zo heads to Divinity and discovers she is the sole beneficiary of a huge fortune and a monstrosity of a house that sits ominously at the peak of Watch Hill—but she must live in it, alone, for three years before the house, or the money, is hers.

Very slow and dull
Revisado: 12-26-20
Story felt like it was stuck. The characters were dull it felt like the journey would never end. Maybe this trilogy was an experiment? In any case, pass it by.

Too bad her brother’s Gothic mansion is under renovation. How can she work with an annoyingly arrogant and too-handsome rogue swinging a hammer nearby?

unable to listen to this.
Revisado: 11-24-20
i tried with this one, i generally really love british historical novels, but the narrator was annoying, and her voices were distracting. the plot detail that the main character was a writer was fine, but the word choices were also just too precious. it made me hate her. i gave up at chapter five. just could not go on.

Whether it's fast cars or fast women, Stefano Ferraro gets what he wants. When he's not fodder for the paparazzi, he commands Ferraro family businesses - both legitimate and illegitimate. While their criminal activity is simply a rumor yet to be proven, no one knows the real truth. The Ferraros are a family of shadow riders capable of manipulating light and dark, an ability Stefano thought ran in his family alone - until now.

worst book ever
Revisado: 06-17-20
this is unbelievably bad. I think it is even worse to hear it read outloud. cannot finish, it is mortifying. whatever plot there maybe, the vocabulary is so limited. bad fan fiction? recycled first unpublished novel? stay away. for free and I still hated it.

Historia
I despise Erik Winter. He's arrogant and cruel - a man I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy - and by some twisted turn of fate, he's my new Olympic gymnastics coach. I've had to contend with gruff coaches in the past, but Erik is far worse. His stern demeanor complements a body built for intimidation, and his reprimands come from a mouth so cunning, I know it could strip me of my defenses - if I let it.

not very trauma informed
Revisado: 06-11-19
found this to be a strange romance story built on the trauma and rape of heroine. I really found the minimization of assault and recovery to be almost offensively minimized. poor subject for author. she seemed to have little understanding of the topic. my mistake in picking this book.

Truly awful
Revisado: 03-25-19
I think I got this because it was free or cheap, and believe me, I still couldn’t finish it. Unappealing characters, repetitive body shaping, and a overall dated and boring story. Give this one a hard pass.

too slow for me.
Revisado: 02-12-19
I really wanted to like this book. I tried. I cannot say how much I hated the writer breaking the 4th wall with the reader to have the characters give opinions. It was distracting and it took away from the story. This device made it difficult for me to engage with the book. in addition, the world building of this novel felt like it would never end. I felt the writer was so in love with her clever concept she forgot how to tell a story.
The reader did the best she could with the material.
this was a could not finish.
