It's a double mystery: Two young men have vanished, and the investigation leads to two troubling clues in two different locations - a scorched van and a peculiar bloodstain in an abandoned airport hangar.

Engrossing procedural, despite soporific narrator
Revisado: 02-15-16
I love books that describe events which could only take place in that location, at that time, to those people. Alan Banks is back home in Yorkshire, and his team is fighting rural crime on an extraordinary scale. The sense of place is palpable throughout and the characters, from an aging “master of the universe” to a war veteran recovering from disabling injury, are vivid. Robinson gives loving attention to each member of Banks’s CID team, as well. Simon Prebble’s sonorous, languid tones are pleasant, but the lack of variety in characterization, emotion, or pacing left me thinking that a different narrator could have provided so much more. Nevertheless, highly recommended to fans of the tightly-knit modern police procedural.

Historia
Ever noticed that trying to calm down often produces more agitation? Or that real fulfillment can be elusive, despite living a successful life? Often, such difficulties stem from the human brain's hardwired tendency to seek pleasure and avoid pain. Modern science demonstrates that this survival mechanism served the needs of our earliest ancestors, but is at the root of many problems that we face today, such as depression, compulsive and addictive behaviors, chronic pain, and stress and anxiety.

Even more worthwhile with these study aids
Revisado: 07-19-15
I have been enjoying this course enormously. It presents concepts I have heard many times, but not really understood until I heard Prof. Siegel’s clear, everyday explanations. The longer audio forms of the meditation practice are available for download (free) at his website. The material in his book "The Mindfulness Solution" is basically the same as this audio course—very helpful for reviewing. I am thrilled that Audible has added these courses.

Historia
Bo Tully is the sheriff of Blight County, Idaho, where law enforcement is usually pretty mundane: tracking down truants running away from school, picking up country boys who've had a few too many beers. But Tully gets a little more than the country norm when an ex-con calls with the startling news that there's a corpse draped across one of his fences.

A rare delight
Revisado: 03-28-06
The Blight Way is that rare delight, a humorous mystery that is both laugh-out-loud funny and at the same time, a fair whodunnit. The narrator is absolutely superb at characterizing each and every role -- a genuine talent whom I hope we will hear much more from. Highly recommended.
