Historia
With its brilliant and brutal portrayal of the Corleone family, The Godfather burned its way into our national consciousness. This unforgettable saga of crime and corruption, passion and loyalty continues to stand the test of time, as the definitive novel of the Mafia underworld. A #1 New York Times bestseller in 1969, Mario Puzo's epic was turned into the incomparable film of the same name, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. It is the original classic that has been often imitated, but never matched.

Bad Narration
Revisado: 01-05-25
I have read the book 2x & watched the movies (parts 1&2) countless times. But Mantegna’s narration has ruined the entire experience. I can’t finish the book and can’t unhear it now. I regret this Audio book I should have just left well enough alone.

Great story
Revisado: 09-09-24
This story is told as no one else could tell it. Narrated by Yousef himself I am proud of him and his accomplishments. My life was touched by this triumphant victory over tragedy. I myself was very much intertwined in the lives of the exonerated five. I also felt so many emotions as I reminded of many events and individuals in the juvenile justice system called Division for Youth.

Great Narrator
Revisado: 09-09-24
This book needs no review. It is a classic and should be mandatory reading for all first graders. But this specific audio book is enhanced by the narrator. I look forward to more books narrated by him.

Just Beautiful
Revisado: 09-09-24
A beautiful account of my wonderful greatest borough. The narrator does an astounding job as always. I was disappointed every time I had to stop listening. A great job of weaving through time and history of The Bronx. I will definitely listen to it many times again. I just wish Frazier would have went deeper into the greatest neighborhood in the greatest borough, Hunts Point.

The writing and narration is amazing. I couldn’t stop listening. Finished it in just two sittings. The insight on the trials was eye opening how openly corrupt the justice system was and still is.

In 1950, after over 50 years of military occupation and colonial rule, the Nationalist Party of Puerto Rico staged an unsuccessful armed insurrection against the United States. Violence swept through the island: Assassins were sent to kill President Harry Truman, gunfights roared in eight towns, police stations and post offices were burned down. In order to suppress this uprising, the US Army deployed thousands of troops and bombarded two towns.

Degrading and hard to listen to
Revisado: 10-04-21
This book was very hard to listen to. I’m sure there are Hispanic narrators available. Peter Berkot’s pronounciation of Spanish was very degrading to me as a proud Boriqua. Audible please do better. This is a great book, but I really feel degraded that a Spanish speaker wasn’t used.
