These are basically parlor games that get increasingly spicy as the levels go up so you can stop whenever you start to feel uncomfortable. Since we are in "the lifestyle," we went all the way. Fun! Fun! Added a new element to what we do. My whole group love the games. Only problem was that the narrator seemed a little robotic at times but we got used to that.

Fascinating

Fascinating stories. Found it hard to stop listening.
As for the narrator, I will give the same advice I have given in other reviews. People's taste in narrators vary tremendously. I like this guy but at least one other person did not so....Listen to the sample and decide for yourself.

I'm old enough to remember Maureen and, of course, John Wayne. Loved this book.
As for the narrator...I thought he was very good but a couple of other people did not. ....so Listen to the sample and decide for yourself.

Interesting, historical, he-was-there

What was one of the most memorable moments of Present at the Creation?

Very first chapter...just pulls you in.

Have you listened to any of James Killavey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yup..One of my favorite narrators. Good job, as usual.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both actually...a number of times.

Fascinating look at the NFL from the beginning from someone who lived through it.

Flawed but Good

Loved the book but...for audio perfectionists this may not be for you. The copyright says 1980 and the sound has some background noise common to recordings in those days. And....while I don't agree with the reviewer who "shouted" about it. ( all caps is considered shouting ) it does have a slightly hollow sound. However, in spite of the less-than-perfect sound quality, we ( my wife and I ) loved it! For one thing we I prefer American readers because for us, as Americans, British accents tend to get in the way of understanding.
And..most importantly...the reader was very good...seeming to "read with a smile." Over the years we have heard two other recordings of this book and the readers were just so very serious. This was Jane Austen's most light-hearted book and this readers voice matched the text perfectly. So our advice...listen to the sample first. If you don't mind the "old days" audio and you are an Austen fan, you'll love this reading.

Great Book

This is one of the world's great books and not just for it's sexual advice - which is fascinating - but for it's look at the mores and culture of an ancient civilization. Liked the reader, too. Heard other samples but they tried to give a romantic "syrupy" tone to the reading and it just doesn't fit. This book calls for a "matter of fact" rendition
and this reading does that very well. Five stars.

Spell binder

Andre Norton is one of the greats of Science Fiction and this, like just about everything she wrote, is a spell-binding yard with a little food for thought thrown in. Good reading, too.

Riveting

Riveting story..a bit wordy...but before radio, tv, the Internet etc. that was the norm. Nevertheless, very enthralling story. Well read, too.

Great Selection

I listened to these sets in the "old days" when it cost about $40 on cassettes. Glad to see these Volumes are now on Audible as some of my tapes are broken and the price is certainly right. Great selections ( all three volumes ) and very well read.
