Well researched and the author makes a great case as to how the media (CNN) created a false narrative with manufactured "facts" to back it up. I too flew in Vietnam but knew little of the war in Laos. Highly recommend this audio book.

Very well done book! My only question: Why would the author put himself in this incredibly life-threatening environment as a war correspondent when he had three precious daughters and his wife at home. Seems very selfish to me that he would chose this death-defying occupation when his priority should have been his family. I don't get it. I know in hindsight he would probably have made other choices.

Couldn't finish it. Just as I won't go to a movie that accentuates blood and gore, this book is all about bombarding the reader with horribly graphic details of horrendous acts of murder of men, women, children, and babies - whether by the Rangers, Indians, or Mexicans. The examples through just half of the book are too numerous to count. While the descriptions may be accurate - not my cup of tea.
