what a wonderful listen!

Michael Richards is such a great writer! I loved the introspective telling of his fascinating life. if you think you know him from his Seinfeld character. you don't! He is incredibly sensitive, intelligent. well-read, and thoughtful. He's the definition of a life long learner who seeks constant improvement and enlightenment. I enjoyed every word of it, and the big bonus is that the author is also the reader. I highly recommend this book!

What an inspiring memoir from a man who has been through it all, and has risen to prominence and fame, yet has remained grounded, humble, and generous of spirit. The world is definitely a better place with Billy Porter in it. And now that I've listened to his story, I can't get enough of his music. His powerful, emotional voice just makes me want to cry, because it's so beautiful. I highly recommend this book!

if you are sensitive avoid this one. I loved The River so much and this is a continuation. good lead character but the situation he is faced with is truly stomach turning and nightmare material.

Heartfelt

I loved this book. Harry's voice is lovely to listen to and the writing is superb. I can appreciate that this is the only way the harassed prince could get his truth out there. What a shame he didn't get support from his family. He is definitely a troubled man. Hopefully he can find peace and feel free to live a more normal life.

Gripping!

What a page Turner this was! It was a well written adventure story about true friendship and selflessness and heartbreak. The reader was fantastic.

I love Lucy Price Lewis. I could listen to anything she reads. This story is far fetched but I listened to it anyway. I probably wouldn't recommend it though as it's not Karen Slater's best.

This book is painful to listen to. The reader does not have a good voice and the story is simplistic and trite. I like light reading but this one goes too far.

Raw and brave

it was disappointing to read some negative reviews. I don't agree at all. I listened to it all in two days. As the mom of a boy who committed suicide at age 25, I recognized the same hopeless despair in my son's suicide note as Matt's account of this long desperate battle. The only difference between my son and Matt is that Matt never gave up. Thank you, Matt, for your honesty. I'm so glad you are able to come out on the other side.

Good plot but...

very disturbing and contains violence and the worst of drug use. I kept with it because wanted to know the outcomes for the characters but if I'd known it focused on brutality and gory details of drug use and murder and rape, I would not have chosen this book.
