Wish I DNF’d - gory, far fetched, long
Revisado: 10-30-24
Oof - didn’t like this from the beginning, should have stopped. So gory. The story was dull and far fetched - the romance not believable, the ‘powers’ of one of the characters just silly. In frustration I checked reviews and read reviews and saw that several people DNFd…still I trudged on. I liked several of Amy Harmon’s other books - trusted that this one would be good too - sadly, no. I like the narrator. He does an excellent job. Cannot recommend this book to anyone.

I like this author and was excited to reminisce based on the description of this story. Instead I found this pointless, crude and depressing. Didn’t relate. It ended very suddenly…honestly, I was glad.

I tried, really tried to overcome the eye rolls...
Revisado: 02-07-22
Ugh. Have heard great things about the author so was excited to read one of her novels. I didn’t expect over-the-top romantic drama - shame on me for not researching before purchasing. I’m usually game to try anything, but this was one eye roll after another from the beginning.
If you are past your teen years AVOID. No 18 yr old guy would ever talk or act like this. The female narrator was so filled with angst and drama she grated on my nerves. I kept pushing…trying to be open to something new…but if I roll my eyes one more time they just may fall out of my head.
Money wasted.

Fluff with explicit sex scenes
Revisado: 06-17-21
Stereotypical gorgeous woman meets gorgeous man and suddenly they are “in love”. No substance. If you want a lightweight read with raunch - this is your book.
I wasn’t invested in the characters at all. Thought about stopping numerous times…it was just background as I did other things.

Historia
At once profoundly personal and far-reaching, Exit Interview with My Grandmother serves as a meditation on the beginning of a young woman’s life and the series of questions that arise from examining love, loss, family, memory, and death. Moving between cities and centuries, Meyersohn probes her family's Jewish history and her grandparents' relationships in part to decipher her own young queer relationships, but also to examine how we ought to behave in the face of a world riddled with uncertainty and doubt.

High School Creative Writing Project
Revisado: 07-22-20
Oof - this was a high school project from beginning to end. I admire his enthusiasm, wanted to like the book...I kept going even though it was painful and eye roll inducing. Wish I’d stopped early on. Sped up the fight scene that was waaaaay too long at the end in order to finally crosses the finish line. Not don’t recommend.
