I truly enjoyed the information in the book. The research was incredible. Great detail.
I could not get past the mispronunciations throughout the text: Greg LeMond became lemond, pelotón & several others made it difficult to listen. This book was the first time that I adjusted the speed of narration so I could get through the book faster. An editor would have improved the story for me.

Absolutely Wonderful

This summer MacBeth was shown at the Shakespeare on the Park / Free Will series in Kansas City. I went to see it with a copy of Illustrated Classics (comic book). That allowed me to understand where the play was going.
The novel was excellent since it filled in a lot of the plot gaps that the play left out. It let us get into the characters' heads in a way that made sense even better than seeing the play on stage. The novel was an intimate depiction of the characters that fully fleshes out their motivations for their actions. Lady MacBeth's hatred of Duncan becomes more understandable in the novel.
My family listened to the novelwith me on a 9 hour car ride. It was the best use of the time I could have found. No one wanted to listen to music or anything else. The storytelling was truly engaging.
I highly recommend the novel for anyone. However, if you are a student of Shakespeare, then this novel will be a wonderful experience for you.
