Historia
In Decade of the Wolf, project leader Douglas W. Smith and acclaimed nature writer Gary Ferguson describe the journey of 31 Canadian gray wolves that were released in 1995 and 1996 into Yellowstone National Park and the people who faithfully followed them. The wolves have not only survived but completely changed the ecosystem, spilling a fresh measure of wildness across the world's first national park.

This book is written by the man who introduced and monitored the wolves for over 20 years.
Revisado: 04-01-25
In 1995, wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park.
This book retraces the history of the introduction of wolves from the capture of the wolf in Alaska to the tracking, collaring and activities of these wolves.
With first hand account, this gives you an insight on the park rangers difficult job to conserve a beautiful predator of America.

Stories of danger.
Revisado: 07-19-24
This is a wonderful book with just enough descriptions of dangerous activities in the park to keep your attention but not so much detail you become disgusted.
Lee has done a great job writing this book with his research, background as a park ranger, and knowledge.

Historia
Historic Yellowstone National Park captures the most interesting moments in the park’s history, the slices of life in Montana and Wyoming that provide an idea of what life was like for those who chose to explore this gloriously beautiful corner of the United States. There’s the presence of Native Americans in the early years of the area’s history, the early explorers and expeditions, its debut as the very first national park, the explosive growth of tourism, and the people who made history in this astonishing and mysterious Rocky Mountain landscape.

Great documentation about Yellowstone.
The book jumps around a lot with dates and it’s hard to keep up sometimes.

Historia
America's Great Plains once possessed one of the grandest wildlife spectacles of the world, equaled only by such places as the Serengeti, the Masai Mara, or the veld of South Africa. Pronghorn antelope, gray wolves, bison, coyotes, wild horses, and grizzly bears: less than 200 years ago these creatures existed in such abundance that John James Audubon was moved to write "it is impossible to describe or even conceive the vast multitudes of these animals".
