Historia
After a long journey to Saturn’s moon Enceladus, spaceship ILSE is on its way back to Earth, carrying crucial cargo. The crew is exhausted and wants nothing more than a quick return home. Suddenly, a chain of malfunctions puts the expedition in peril. The difficulties appear to be related to planet Jupiter, whose orbit they are crossing. Is it the giant planet itself that won’t let these travelers pass? ILSE’s crew is heading toward catastrophe as an unknown power is forging plans designed to influence the future of human civilization.

Good book, subpar audio
Revisado: 10-18-24
This is my 5th Brandon Q. Morris book and it doesn't disappoint. If you are familiar with his writing then this one fits right in.
The narration though is bad. I swear it is text-to-speech tech. Sentences are squished together or spaced apart awkwardly, there are sometimes long periods of silence that make me check my phone to make sure playback hasn't stopped, or that android auto isn't having problems. There's no inflection and it doesn't sound natural. Words are also mispronounced, sometimes into entirely different words like saying "memorized" instead of "mesmerized." And I was triggered by the way Encaledus was pronounced.
I stuck with it because I'm going through Brandon's entire catalogue of hard sci fi, but the narration made this one a chore.
