Historia
I’m wealthy, powerful, and able to get any woman I want. So why do I feel so empty inside? In search of a deeper me, I take a sabbatical from my privileged life. One year of backpacking around Europe: a new identity, no contacts, and no money. Not a bad plan, I think. Until I get there. A crowded hostel room, body odor, and beer bongs—there are no words for the fresh hell I’ve landed in. But amid the chaos, I meet my new roommate, Hayden Whitmore. She sleeps in the bed opposite me, and I openly admit to staring at her more than I sleep.

Kind of like Sherlock and Holmes. Mystery and a young man with a story and a loss. He’s training to be an investigator, so a mystery avails itself.

I gutted through this
Revisado: 07-01-23
Patting myself on the back, I got through this hard, hard book. I do not understand the elevation of this book on ALL the must-read lists. But, I didn't like Verity either, so maybe I am not a target listener/reader.
You can read other reviews to get a notion of what this book brings to the audience. I think it is the story of Colleen Hoover's parents and I am sorry any child has to witness this awful kind of treatment.
One time in High School, I dated a boy who, when I said I was breaking up with him, he said, "I will kill you". I said "You'll need to go through my dad, take me home!". So a mini-taste of the fear is what I have and I can't imagine staying with an abuser. She tells the story that helps your understand the mind of the abused.
You decide for yourself if you want to read this.

Historia
House-flipping sensation and YouTube star Maggie Nichols can’t wait to dig into her next challenge. Arriving in tiny Kinship, Idaho, with only a cot and a coffeemaker, Maggie is prepared to restore a crumbling Victorian mansion in four months or less. She has her to-do lists, her blueprints, and her team. What she doesn’t have is time for sexy, laid-back landscaper Silas Wright. The man takes flirtation to a whole new level. And he does it shirtless...sometimes pants-less. He’s the wrench in her carefully constructed plans.

Historia
Egypt, 1926. Fiercely independent American Jane Wunderly has made up her mind: she won't be swept off her feet on a trip abroad. Despite her Aunt Millie's best efforts at meddling with her love life, the young widow would rather gaze at the Great Pyramids of Giza than into the eyes of a dashing stranger. Yet Jane's plans to remain cool and indifferent become ancient history in the company of Mr. Redvers, a roguish banker she can't quite figure out.

Complex mystery, with excellent storytelling.
Revisado: 06-21-23
Entertaining mystery set in Egypt. Been there, can almost imagine the heat and the sites.
A hint of a budding romance, but the history is complicated. Propriety is everything and highballs are an essential to an evening. I had a hangover from listening!
This is a complex story, every character has interesting histories - fun writing!
