F bombs
Revisado: 02-06-24
F bombs in an otherwise well written book. Could have been a classy mystery. Private bedroom scenes were kept private, thank goodness.

I love these stories but this one has a very disturbing side that should be considered when making the selection.

Historia
It's 1811, and the threat of revolution haunts the upper classes of King George III's England. Then a beautiful young woman is found savagely murdered on the altar steps of an ancient church near Westminster Abbey. A dueling pistol found at the scene and the damning testimony of a witness both point to one man - Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin, a brilliant young nobleman shattered by his experience in the Napoleonic Wars.

Not clean
Revisado: 08-23-23
F bombs and sex acts described. Otherwise clever. But it leaves me feeling dirty. It’s not my business to listen to people making love

And not until the end. The bickering between the main character and his mother in law was annoying.

Loved the book. Hated the f-words.
Revisado: 01-07-23
Good narration and a fun premise with clever dialogue. I just wish I didn’t have to hear high school hallway-type language. It’s not gritty or real, it’s just ugly.

I was so hoping that this author would work for me, but I can’t deal with hearing the f-word emphatically narrated. Good writing, good narration, but not for me.

I loved this well written mystery. But the f-bombs were a deal breaker. They just hit me too hard, and I refuse to try to get used to it.
