Historia
After 26,000 years the Void Wraith have returned. The Eradication has begun. Mankind’s outer colonies are disappearing. Without warning. Without a trace. Fleet command chalks the attacks up to pirates, but Captain Dryker of the UFC Johnston isn’t buying it. Humanity cannot stop them. Not without help. Captain Dryker’s only hope is to forge an alliance with mankind’s greatest enemy, the savage Tigris. One maverick captain, an unlikely crew, and an aging vessel are all that stand between humanity and the Eradication.

Strangely unimpressed by this?
Revisado: 09-15-24
I'm really lost here. Almost didn't write a review since SO MANY people loved it. And it seemed alot of people who loved it also love books I love? I really don't get it. The story is fine but it's not anything new, it plods along sooo slow... Don't be impressed by the 6 book, 43+ hours. After 25 hours or so, I could have summarized the book in about 90 seconds to someone. Also, I don't know whether it's a technical issue with how it's recorded but in the Audible app this 6 book series has 400+ chapters. Some only a couple minutes. It weirdly breaks up the continuity. Last, I dislike predictable writing and a storyline that's just fundamentally illogical. For example, I'll synopsize most of the whole series - the future universe is largely comprised of humans, a feline based species that we are always fighting with and a 3rd supreme race that mainly stays out of things but if you annoy them they can destroy your race, your planet, your complete existence. A 4th, even more powerful race comes along every 25,000 years or so to enslave or kill everyone and they have recently infiltrated the races to help undermine the leaders and advance their cause. Of course no one believes they exist the existing all knowing super-race acts and behaves like complete idiots and are completely incompetent without the help of the snarky, upstart humans.
Believe it or not, throw in a few unremarkable battle scenes and that pretty much sums up the whole 40+ hours series.

Historia
The Yellowstone super-eruption has put an end to modern civilization. As cities and countries continue to fall, the colony of Rivendell in the alternate Earth known as Outland looks more and more like the only real hope for humanity. But life in Rivendell isn’t getting any simpler, either. Bill and Kevin continue to discover new worlds; the population continues to rise; winter is approaching; and everyone has their own opinion about how things should be run.

Not for me
Revisado: 04-13-23
Huge fan of both Dennis and Ray and this wouldn't keep me from buying anything either of them were involved in. As much as I hate to pile on, as others have said, this was way too political. An interesting scifi concept of dimensional travel was completely lost by dragging ugly people and politics into the mix which overshadowed everything. If you want to write current social commentary that's fine, branch out and write non-fiction. Just don't drag scifi into it. Plus, it didn't even make any sense as a plot topic. If you're going to have a very "woke" slant and you manage to work "Greta" into the storyline, having the earth-changing event be a NATURAL disaster and not man-made is...well.. dumb. If you're going that way, go all in. Blame big-oil, conservatives, etc. We could be the most tree-hugging society imaginable and Yellowstone wipes us out anyway? Most of the characters were uncharacteristically (for Dennis) one-dimensional. I liked pretty much no one in this story

Esper has a rendezvous with a mysterious contact aboard an undersea luxury cruise ship, an exclusive submarine hotel for a cozy five-day getaway. She's going to get all the intel she needs to cut off the head of the Cult of Ra - at least that's the plan. When she first meets her contact, it's at the scene of his murder. Then someone sinks the cruise ship, trapping Esper and the other passengers with the killer. Now, Esper has to discover the killer's identity, recover any stolen intel the victim might have had on him, and keep the other passengers alive.

A great continuation of the series. Look forward to more adventures. While the crew of the Mobius is great, these two/three characters are almost better focused.

Though an unusual story line, this is so much more than a run-of-the-mill zombie story. The "shamblers" are really secondary to how well the character are developed. Would definitely recommend.

With a heart of gold and her companion Kubu by her side, Esper sets out to make the galaxy a better place, preferably making enough money to pay for the fuel to get from one job to the next. But just because she’s not cut out to be ruthless doesn’t mean the galaxy is going to eat her alive.

As great as the Mobius series was - all 80+ hours of it, I felt like it got a bit drawn out in the end. If you like Esper and Kubu you will LOVE the more narrowly focused and shorter story lines here. They generally have a bit more of an "adult" theme and language which is nice. I love this series and hope there are more to come!

I was really skeptical at first but after the first hour I was hooked! Very thought provoking but not dry or heavy handed. In fact, it was almost whimsical due to the fantastic narration. Great SciFi presented with a light touch makes this a great easy listen. Already done with book 2 and soon to start the 3rd.
