great start, okay finish
Revisado: 12-27-23
really interesting concept and great story telling. i loved how it take you back and forth between the past and present. however i was confused how what seemed to be the climax happened when there were still 6 hours left of story... And then it got kind of slow and a bit boring... the end fell flat for me...

touching story, great narration
Revisado: 11-16-23
i love the duel narration. i found the beginning a bit slow but once it got going i was sucked in. i think my only real hang up was i realized i don't like Monique. i wasnt interested in her story so I'd get irritated and itching to get back into Evelyn's. very emotional and sad. great read.

Historia
Who hasn’t wondered for a split second what the world would be like if a person who is the object of your affliction ceased to exist? But then you’ve probably never heard of The McMasters Conservatory, dedicated to the consummate execution of the homicidal arts. To gain admission, a student must have an ethical reason for erasing someone who deeply deserves a fate no worse (nor better) than death. The campus of this “Poison Ivy League” college—its location unknown to even those who study there—is where you might find yourself the practice target of a classmate.

When you have to kill the same terrorist twice in one week there’s either something wrong with your world or something wrong with your skills - and there’s nothing wrong with Joe Ledger’s skills. And that’s both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because he’s a Baltimore detective who has just been secretly recruited by the government to lead a new task force created to deal with the problems that Homeland Security can’t handle....

Not so very long ago, Eragon - Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider - was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders. months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can.

Extremely disappointing...
Revisado: 12-15-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. This book is extremely redundant with unnecessary, excessive detail. The ending is also very very disappointing and fulfilling...
What do you think your next listen will be?
Nothing by Christopher Paolini at risk that all his stories end so dishearteningly...
Which scene was your favorite?
The final battle with King Galbatorix
Do you think Inheritance needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
yes... most of the story lines where just left in the wind... I think it would be interesting to see if Eragon and Arya ever meet again and how they rebuild the world and the dragon riders.

Second book in the Chrestomanci series
Revisado: 12-15-15
What did you love best about The Lives of Christopher Chant?
I love that this book is essentially the prequel to the first book and tells us about some of the characters we had already met in book one.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Christopher Chant - knowing what he becomes from the first book makes him more interesting as his personality is in stark contrast in this book to the first one.
Have you listened to any of Gerard Doyle’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, this is consistent with his other performances. Great, easy to listen to, really entertaining narrator.

Different yet the same
Revisado: 12-15-15
What did you love best about The Magicians of Caprona?
I liked the roll of the cats (especially benvenuto). I liked how the story was kind of different from the previous Chrestomanci books with the love story and the puppets.
What other book might you compare The Magicians of Caprona to and why?
Honestly it is a sort of telling of Romeo and Juliet but it's happy at the end.
What about Gerard Doyle’s performance did you like?
I love all of Gerard Doyle's performances. He is consistent with his pronunciations and the the voices he choices for each character.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The book made me laugh and it was less predictable than many books
