It’s a creative fun popcorn creature story
Revisado: 04-24-25
This story knew what it was and stuck with it. Sometimes I want a deep meaning creature horror and sometimes I want a just tear them apart and chaos popcorn horror. This delivered. No overly cleaver trying to keep you guessing but full of smart characters that struggle in a situation anyone would get killed in. Overall enjoyed. Thank you.

Historia
Helen Vaughan doesn't know why she and her mother left their ancestral home at Harrowstone Hall, called Harrow, or why they haven't spoken to their extended family since. So when her grandfather dies, she's shocked to learn that he has left everything—the house, the grounds, and the money—to her. The inheritance comes with one condition: She must stay on the grounds of Harrow for one full year, or she'll be left with nothing. There is more at stake than money. For as long as she can remember, Harrow has haunted Helen's dreams.

Good overall story and listen
Revisado: 12-27-24
While the story itself was good and interesting, didn’t have as much horror other reviews claimed. But overall good story and will listen to more from
Both the author and the performer.

Fun new monster story
Revisado: 12-09-24
Loved the monster and the overall tone. It was refreshing to have it told in this way with only knowing what the characters would know and not being told every thing. Leaves more for the imagination and makes it more realistic.

Historia
Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

Interesting but not as deadly as expected
Revisado: 11-12-24
I was expecting a little more creep factor after giving one of the others in this series a try and loving that one. This book was worth it but didn’t hold as much of a punch as the other did. Performance was fantastic though.

I’ve been going back through to a few of my old favorites when I was young and almost forgot about this book. So glad I found it again. Never knew there was a second book so will be starting that one soon.

Interesting and New
Revisado: 10-22-24
I read/listen to a lot of horror stories, and I love a good creature story, so I was happy yet hesitant to give this one a go. It sat in my wish list for longer than I now would like to admit. While some might find the ending a little slow the story as a whole was refreshing. The creature new to mainstream storytelling gave me chills and made me check my windows. I’m glad I gave it a try.

Fun dark and creative
Revisado: 09-26-24
The creatures are very creative and interesting. The people seem like they could be real and hard not to want to survive. Not the creepiest or scariest but a great creature story.

A nice take on a possession story
Revisado: 09-18-24
Overall I liked a lot about this story. The performance was amazing!!! Top notch.
*****Small spoiler ahead****
My only issue is how it lost steam so fast. Everything was built up so well and felt like such a cool way to do it, then just deflated. So much cool moments of horror and psychological tension, then ends with everything happening out of view of the narrator. Making the ending feel flat. Not saying I wanted a happy ever after, just some more humph to its power.
