Book 2 of the Dark Herbalist saga starts off where the previous book left off and is recommended in reading first. The Author learned form his mistakes in the first book and proceeded to keep the tension alive and real throughout the book. Under constant threat, the entire online world is after him and groups of enemies around every corner. Definitely a good read for those of you who enjoy the Fantasy RPG genre.

Any additional comments?

My title header is about as spoiler inducing as my review will get. Just finished the 3rd installment and the overall theme to the series holds true in the most bittersweet way. All the bobs have reactions, different experiences and most importantly... different lives they live. From Bob 1 living with the Deltans, Riker and his duty to the rescue of humanity on earth, to Howard trying to live with the knowledge of Bridgette's decisions. Life and Death, living with regret, these common and reoccurring themes help solidify the story of "...life moves on".

I enjoyed the wrap-up of each storyline and it was expertly done and told in a way that seems real and progressive. From the Pav to the Others, from Howard and Bridgette to Archimedes and the legacy he made on Eden. Pain and grief are real and some life events hit our Bobs harder than others. The Bobiverse journey has left a hole in my collective reader heart for it's ending. I wanted more, needed to get a feeling knowing more to each story-arc, but alas, the story leaves us with a longing for more.

I enjoyed the 3 books immensely and re-read the first two several times. But I feel this one will be a while before I pick it up again. The ending was a bit heavy for my tastes but well done none-the-less

I actually enjoyed this story knowing full well the reviews were not giving this 5 star ratings. as others have mentioned, the Real world is less than tolerated and almost worth skipping over if it wasn't for the main characters interactions with it.
I did find the story appealing and promised of rewards just like those of the quests in Boundless Realm. For that, I wasn't disappointed. I'll probably re-read it when the 2nd gets released on audible.

I would recommend this one for those readers who enjoy RPGs, games like WoW, old school Everquest. This series is clearly meant to cash in on books like Ready Player One but without the 80s charm or intensity of the chase. It was a decent read and I'll be picking up the 2nd as soon as it's released, despite its many flaws

What was one of the most memorable moments of Super Sales on Super Heroes?

The first Lawyer scene with Lily, priceless!

Any additional comments?

Audible had been practically forcing this book in my direction as every book search I made had this as my top recommendation. After ignoring it for 2 solid months, I finally used a credit and bought it not expecting a whole lot. With reviews talking about Slavery, harems, villains taking over, this did not seem that appealing to me. Thankfully, Super Sales on Super Heroes proved me wrong! I liken this book to the Pretty Woman approach to the above topics. It's not the focus of the story nor is the topics you first think about a part of the book. The main character is most definitely out to use his slaves, every one of them in fact, but not in a way you might think. He drawls out their super powers to feed his own so that he can better his lifestyle, his slaves and his pocketbooks. Felix is not a good guy, but he is certainly no villain either. His actions are good and he looks after each of his owned super. Rewarding those who help him and upgrading those who serve and protect this thriving business.

Definitely not your typical Super Hero book and most definitely unlike anything you've ever read. A refreshing read even with topics as hot and un PC friendly as it can get. Intended for a Male audience but Females will enjoy the strong feminine characters in the story.

Heads up for those getting their hopes up for sex, harem slavery or sexual themes. You will be very sorely disappointed. But this book more than makes up for it with excellent writing, evil soul sucking lawyers, clone happy wolf-girls and bad-ass genius dwarfs with boob jobs Ohh, and can't forget PANCAKES!!!

What made the experience of listening to Super Powereds: Year 1 the most enjoyable?

EXCELLENT characters. Some of the best I've seen and ones you can easily get attached too. You can relate to the snobby cheerleader, the nerdy geek, the orphaned do-gooder and the sleezy rogue who is looking to take advantage of any situation. All are so different but you fall in love with each of them as the story goes on.

Any additional comments?

The super hero genre books just got that much better with Super Powereds. Highly recommend this book if you'er a fan of a good story, characters you can relate too and hidden strengths that are developed over time.

What did you love best about The Most Wonderful Tales of the Year?

Being included in the lives of our favorite narrators

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?

I have a vast Audiobook collection and many narrators in this book I've heard in one form or another. All of whom I appreciate and thank for sharing a part of their life, but Katherine Kellgren was with me during a particular rough patch of my life. So I wanted to send a warm and thankful shout-out for her personal Christmas story as I not only felt deep respect for her, but now a connection with a holiday tradition as well. I too have a version of a "Felt ornament" that I hold close. It's stupid, its silly and it comes with a flood of memories over a "Dukes of Hazzard" General Lee tree decoration. It's a little Shrinkie-Dink from back in my childhood dates but it means the world to me. Out of all the stories told in this audiobook, this is the one I most related too, AND it was from my favorite narrator to boot.

But my thanks runs deeper than that. The Bloody Jack series (although not my genre or age range) helped me through trying time in my life and because of it I became a stronger and better person in the end. So with much respect and admiration, Thanks! your portrayal of Mary Faber and friends helped a random stranger. God Bless!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Loved Therese Plummer's story of passing along the Christmas Carol tradition.

Would you listen to Armada again? Why?

I think I would after some time as passed. It was an enjoyable read and I probably would recommend it to those who liked or have read Ready Player One

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the idea behind Video Gamer's defending the world. It was told in a way that brought character and life to the story.

What about Wil Wheaton’s performance did you like?

Excellent job! I would or could go into detail here but it's Wil freakin Wheaton... nothing else needs to be said.

Any additional comments?

Personally speaking, I liked the book but...
This was a fair attempt at coming up with a book that could top or exceed Ready Player One. It however, fell short of coming up with a full storyline and set of characters I really enjoyed and cared about. I make no apologies by comparing the Authors books because of how well RPO was written and created an enjoyable story. Ernst Cline has the skills and the know-how to make a well rounded book. I feel as though Armada was rushed, unpolished and needed more time in the editing room before it should have been released. Zack's character was obviously created from a real person but with little thought to round him out and make him someone I cared about. He is a conflicted protagonist with thoughts and opinions thrown in by the Author and not that believable outside of the concept of this story. Zack is an 80's kid for no other reason than the memory of his father... Ok, I guess I can believe that but I couldn't grasp the "Why" the 80's and why those tracks of music if not being the Author's favorite.

This is one of the examples of an Author taking his love for a culture and applying it to his work. Yet not taking the time or reasoning's to polish it off like he did with Ready Player One. Not every story or main character needs to be infatuated with the stuff you like. Good attempt, fun read, enjoyable entertainment but falls short of being anything more than a good book.

Would you listen to Lamp Riders again? Why?

I would be interested in additional books yes. For the record, I'm not the target audience nor do read romance novels/novelettes. The magic portion of the book intrigued me and I was not disappointed. I would recommend if you are in the general vicinity of the target audience.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lamp Riders?

Augusta Hill's descriptive writing style is both impressive and vivid. How she set the tone and mood for her Lamp Rider's book left a memorable image in my head for the rest of the book. There is talent here and this is why I am recommending this book for casual fantasy/romance lovers out there. I will be looking out for additional books of her's because of this novelette.

What three words best describe Julie Hoverson’s performance?

Cheery, Forced, Wrong accent.

Any additional comments?

I was not impressed with Julie Hoverson's performance as I don't think she was the right fit for the job. This is not to say she was bad in this book, but the best way to summarize my impression was "a Southern drawl in a California setting". Too cheery, character's seem forced (Celia's mom for example) and I'm sorry but that accent just did not fit a simple Californian girl raised in the sticks at all. Poor producer choice maybe?
I did however enjoy Julie's expressive tones and inflections at describing Celia's frustrations and inner monologue. Positive marks for that. Sadly, not enough to give her performance anything above a C+ for effort.

These next comments are specifically for the Author herself and to those who want more incite before purchasing this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the descriptive words and setting for this story. The town is alive in my head and its inhabitants are real people. This type of narrative is a gift and I encourage you to hone it. As for constructive criticism, I'm suggesting to work on describing the reasons a character does what they do and why they are thinking they way they think. I didn't/couldn't buy Celia's thought process for why she was suddenly infatuated with the Hot Jinn biker gang. For someone who grew up in that harsh town and toughened up with nature/animals/elements like heat and scorpions, going all gooey eyed at the first sign of blond/red/black locks that come out of a helmet isn't real. Even if it WAS real in the realms of this story, please explain to the audience why this was happening. If magic was involved at influencing her thoughts, go into detail as to why these foreign thoughts were invading her mind like that. I realize that this is a romance magic story but find something the readers can relate too. "Celia saw Abdul's eyes... a sparkle within that she couldn't explain. A sea of midnight black filled with the stars of adventure and a hint of danger. His eyes bore into her soul like nothing she had ever felt before and would never feel again. Her mind raced through every book she had read, every movie she had seen and every story her father told her just before he tucked her into bed. All within an instant of seeing those big beautiful black eyes. Then time unfroze and Abul smiled a mischievous grin."

Obviously you don't need use this example but I hope you get the idea. Why a character is doing something is important not only for the story, but for the audience to believe and relate to what's going on. I know you are talented and I will be reading more of your books in the future.
