Historia
Lucas knows the perfect night entails just three things: video games, wine, and pad thai. Peanuts are a must! Other people? Not so much. Why complicate things when he’s happy alone? Then one day the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally.

An eye opener and, for straight and abke bodied peooke like me, an important, even necessary look
Revisado: 01-12-25
Unexpectedly a boik i could not put down. I thought to listen in chapters... But.... The rawness and honesty of a very personal story kept me right there. The incredible ability of the author to see the BIG picture while being vulnerable.
It has been an eye opener. It also, decades after first being published, is sadly still... Or even more relevant.

Historia
At the front of a middle-school classroom in Oklahoma, a boy named Khosrou (whom everyone calls "Daniel") stands, trying to tell a story. His story. But no one believes a word he says. To them he is a dark-skinned, hairy-armed boy with a big butt whose lunch smells funny; who makes things up and talks about poop too much.

Complexity of relationships
Revisado: 01-01-24
Amazing tender, caring, loving treatment of each character. The stories of the different timelines and interactions are beautifully arranged. Thereby each given their due, but also revealing, gently allowing us to get to know each protagonist. Now that i have finished.... I will take a moment to digest the emotions stirred up in me... And then i will listen to it again, with a deeper understanding and a curiosity to see how much deeper, more complex, it can become for me. The narrators are wonderful, ebhancing the experience, not distracting from it. The best book in quite a while

Historia
Luc O'Donnell is tangentially - and reluctantly - famous. His rock-star parents split when he was young, and the father he's never met spent the next 20 years cruising in and out of rehab. Now that his dad's making a comeback, Luc's back in the public eye, and one compromising photo is enough to ruin everything. To clean up his image, Luc has to find a nice normal relationship...and Oliver Blackwood is as nice and normal as they come. He's a barrister, an ethical vegetarian, and someone who has never inspired a moment of scandal in his life. He’s perfect boyfriend material.

Historia
Mona Lisa St. James made a deathbed promise that she would do anything to save her mother's art gallery. Unfortunately, not only is The Red painted red, but it's in the red. Just as she realizes she has no choice but to sell it, a mysterious man comes in after closing time and makes her an offer: He will save The Red if she agrees to submit to him for the period of one year. The man is handsome, English, and terribly tempting - but surely her mother didn't mean for Mona to sell herself to a stranger.

Not sure what to think
Revisado: 10-24-19
This is my first book by this writer and I find myself struggling to connect.
I get that the genre requires the reader to suspend disbelieve a lot of time.... But there is a lot of suspending to be done here.
Yep it's sexy... Sensual... Erotic... Actually not really badly done...
But the resolve/reveal just didn't cut it. I'm not giving away any secrets... But all I could think was... REALLY?!
The heroines speed of compliance was hard to believe all along... But at the end just made me want to shake someone or something... Preferably the author.
It is not a bad example of its genre... Hence the 3 stars... But I found myself just too often saying What?!
Really?! Which in turn made me lose interest... Getting distracted.. Not caring overly.
Niw, a few days later, I find it hard to retell large parts of the story... Never a good sign

Historia
After discovering her fiancé cheating just before the wedding, she's determined to make the most of what would have been her honeymoon at a luxury hotel. A little escape is just what she needs to try to put the past behind her. But a chance encounter with a tall, dark, and handsome stranger at the hotel pool leaves her feeling flustered. At first she's put off by his arrogant attitude, but she's quickly swept away by his confident smile and undeniably masculine charm.

The Sheikh's Tenacious Lover
Revisado: 07-30-19
Okay.... The title in itself does not invite great expectations....a beach read...maybe.. Nothing more.
But but but... What an irritating female. Within the first few minutes I was ready to stop... Decided to give it more time just in case it improved.. But spent the next chapter telling the silly, immature ignorant, annoying woman off....in my head... But even that wasn't entertaining enough to keep me wanting to listen. So have up half way through chapter 3.
I feel like asking for my money back...

Historia
We were best friends since as early as I could remember. We grew up together. We were next door neighbors. We shared each other's deepest secrets. When I was 13, we made a pact: if we were still single by the time we were 30, we'd marry each other. Today was my 30th birthday. I was single. I knew he was single, too. But we were no longer best friends, and a part of me knew that he hated me.

I hate.... Really REALLY hate cliff-hangers.
Most of the time it's just an excuse to make more money.... And that's what's happening here. The story is okay... Narration likeable...
But that darn ending...or lack thereof..
Irritated me enough that I won't be bothering with the other 2(!) books .
Which is judgement enough....if the book was THAT good I'd be buying them.
