Historia
When world-class biblical scholar Bart Ehrman first began to study the texts of the Bible in their original languages he was startled to discover the multitude of mistakes and intentional alterations that had been made by earlier translators. In Misquoting Jesus, Ehrman tells the story behind the mistakes and changes that ancient scribes made to the New Testament and shows the great impact they had upon the Bible we use today.

A disservice to true textual criticism
Revisado: 08-12-21
Mr. Ehrman has huge misconceptions that influence his writing. His explanations on prophecies and what was expected to happen by early church Christians are by and large wrong.
For instance. His thinking that Jesus told the apostles that the world would in their generation, or Hal Lindsey's interpretation of the same causes him to believe that Christ did not teach the truth or that the scriptures concerning that are wrong.
Many scholars and avid studies of the bible, of which I am the later, understand Jesus' declaration of the end time events were not speaking of the end of the world, but were speaking of the end of the age which was fulfilled in the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 a.d.
It is unfortunate that the KJV translated "world" instead of "age". The followers of Jesus even were selling their possessions and land because they knew that destruction was coming in their generation.
This is just one of many things that Mr. Ehrman got wrong.

Very poor narration
Revisado: 12-15-19
Although this book was interesting and worth 4 stars the narration was probably the worst narration I ever heard. Emphasis continually put on the wrong words. It sounds like this Mike Duty did not read the book first.

Historia
Zionism is a semi-secret political movement that is far more powerful than most Americans even know. Our nation is being captured by the Zionists! Patriots, Christians, people of all religions, and all US citizens must be aware of the Zionist movement that puts at risk our financial freedoms and personal rights guaranteed by the constitution. Zionism is not what you think. It is very different than simply securing the homeland of Jews.

Historia
On a brisk autumn day, a 13-year-old boy stands on the shores of the gray Atlantic, near a silent amusement park and a fading ocean resort called the Alhambra. The past has driven Jack Sawyer here: His father is gone, his mother is dying, and the world no longer makes sense. But for Jack everything is about to change. For he has been chosen to make a journey back across America - and into another realm. One of the most influential and heralded works of fantasy ever written, The Talisman is an extraordinary novel of loyalty, awakening, terror, and mystery.

Excellent!
Revisado: 05-31-05
I never thought that I would find an adventure as well written as Swan Song which is my all-time favorite book, but I have found one that finally makes the grade.
I have read lots of Stephen King's novels but this one is definitely the best of the lot. It is written so well that from the very first I found myself emersed and actually walking along beside Jack on his travels and wondering what was around the next bend. Truly a classic and I recommend it highly.
And Frank Muller did an excellent job telling the story. He doesn't just read, but his voice actually changes and takes on the personality of each character that he is reading.
I think I'll give this book a rest for about a year and then "read" it again.
