Boring
Revisado: 08-05-23
This book was so boring, at the end I wasn't even sure what it was about. I don't care about this women's life. At first, I did, but then I just didn't care. Had to listen to it in 1 1/2 speed to get through it.

Just No
Revisado: 07-28-22
I guess I was too harsh on the last review I wrote for this podcast so I will lighten it up. I think this podcast is a one sided view of a relationship where the host and the person it the podcast is about (Kayla) talk bad about an unnamed guy. Kayla seems to me to be to blame for many of the things that go wrong in her life but takes no responsibility for any of it and instead blames the unnamed guy for everything. Also, she talks incessantly about the business they are starting and come to find out, she is involved in an MLM. I can't take her seriously and now I can't take the host seriously because she is just allowing and agreeing with her friend on how bad unnamed guy is. All I ask is for her to take accountability for your actions and don't diagnose other people on air.

Historia
In 2009, Susannah Cahalan woke up in a strange hospital room strapped to a bed, under guard, and unable to move or speak. Her medical records - from a month-long hospital stay of which she had no memory - reported psychosis, violence, and dangerous instability. Yet, only weeks earlier she had been a healthy, ambitious twenty-four-year-old, six months into her first serious relationship and a sparkling career as a cub reporter

Should have been an article or short story
Revisado: 03-17-19
I feel sorry for this young lady but I really didn't need this much detail about her illness. I found the first part interesting but the last 3/4 of the book could have been condensed to one or two chapters - there was just too much detail. I feel like illness happens to lots of people everyday - yes this one was scary but she recovered. I have seen people suffer from cancer and slowly die before my eyes. It seemed to me that this girl is young and has lived an easy life. She was fortunate to be outgoing, pretty and rich - this was her first bad experience and she took this opportunity to write a book. This story seems like a personal journey that she should have taken and then maybe written an article about her experience but not a book.

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

A book with a twist
Revisado: 02-18-19
This book kept me guessing and I loved it. I didn't find this book confusing but you do need to pay attention. It kept me interested and I disliked someone only to find out I shouldn't dislike that person. I just LOVED this book.

I enjoyed this book. It kept me interested and I enjoyed the reader's voice. I don't want to say too much here because it could ruin it but I enjoyed the plot, kept be interested and surprised me - which for me is always good.

What was the point
Revisado: 01-13-19
I am not sure what the point of this story was except to cut down Christians and listen to a bitchy woman on a business trip where she doesn’t get her way. Her marriage is a joke, she would fall into an affair at the drop of a hat and she can’t understand other people’s views about life. Ugh, that was a waste of an hour. Glad it was free.

Historia
In the early hours of a summer morning, a young woman steps into the path of an oncoming bus. A tragic accident? Or suicide? At the center of this puzzle is Adrian Wolfe, a successful architect and grief-stricken widower, who, a year after his third wife's death, begins to investigate the cause. As Adrian looks back on their brief but seemingly happy marriage, disturbing secrets begin to surface. The divorces from his two previous wives had been amicable, or so it seemed; his children, all five of them, were resilient as ever, or so he thought.

Kept me interested
Revisado: 01-11-19
I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed a man reading this book and a book from a male perspective (even though there were many perspectives throughout the book). This book kept me interested from the beginning, it was nice for a change for a book not to have so much evil, and psychopathy (seems I read many psychopathic thrillers). I was relieved of the ending, that all didn’t work out perfectly lovey dovey but just OK.

Don't do it!
Revisado: 12-30-18
I would not recommend this book. The story jumps from present to past but not in any clear manner. There are too many first person's talking and I forgot who was speaking a few times. There are too many bad and weird people in this story line and no one to really cheer on. Too many people die that it left me horrified not interested. The turns in this story were just crazy things that it seemed the author wanted to put in a novel so she put them all in this novel in case she never wrote another one. There were no interesting twists and turns. I did not like this story at all and had a hard time getting through it.

No mention of supernatural in plot summary
Revisado: 07-05-18
I enjoyed this book well enough but I feel that is mainly due to the narrators. Narrators give so much to a novel. However the plot to this was very unbelievable and the ending (which made me think of a movie I once saw that I won't name because it is a spoiler) was very contrived. In no way do I think the main character would have done what she did even if there was no supernatural element. And, with the supernatural element, this book is not a psychological thriller but a supernatural book and is not categorized correctly.

This was a great listen. The narrator did a great job. The writing just drew me right in. I didn't guess the ending which is always nice. The characters were enjoyable (not all likable). Very nice book.
