Narrator might put you to sleep
Revisado: 05-03-23
Gotta admit it was kinda boring. The narrator sounds sedated. I expected an adventure not a love story.

Mostly obvious stuff
Revisado: 02-06-23
This book was hard to get through even though it’s so short! The narrator was constantly trying to be a comedian and failed miserably each time. I think I’m gonna trade this title in.

Historia
Canoeing the Congo narrates the journey of Phil Harwood, who undertook an epic five-month solo attempt to canoe the Congo River in war-torn Central Africa. It was a historic 'first descent' from the true source in the highlands of Zambia. Just short of 3,000 miles long, the Congo River is the eighth longest in the world and the deepest river in the world, with a flow rate second only to the Amazon. Along the way, Phil encountered numerous waterfalls, huge rapids, man-eating crocodiles, hippos, aggressive snakes...

Excellent book!
Revisado: 11-10-22
I love adventure books. I couldn’t stop listening. The narrator has a great voice and accent. The trip down the Congo sounded so exciting. I loved the book so much I listened in 2 sittings. And a week later I listened again. My small complaint is I don’t know the metric system so I had to convert to imperial online. And I would’ve loved to see pictures the author took of the river and wildlife.

Im going to go back and listen every few months because this book has so much valuable information! At first I didn’t care for the narrator, kinda monotone but not terrible. But overall a great book and I plan to buy more from the author.

I like the book, it has some good info but I think the author should’ve hire a professional narrator. It took me forever to finish this audio book because the narrator was very strange.

The Wild West was a troublesome area for a long, long time. Hard conditions brought hard people - not everyone was suited to live there, but those who did had a choice - the boring everyday life or a life of an outlaw, filled with daring escapes, adventures, and thievery. If it was you, which one would you choose?

Great lil book! Very interesting and well read. I live in Montana and love the outlaw history. Narrator was perfect. Great voice and cadence for a western book. He sounds like an authentic western Gringo because he pronounces Spanish words perfect! I thoroughly enjoyed the book I just wish it was longer.

Historia
In the gold rush era of Virginia City, Montana, crime was afoot and justice shaky. Lawlessness ran amok in the form of gamblers, saloonkeepers, miners, dance hall girls, and road agents - outlaws who ambushed travelers on the road for a chance to steal precious gold. Of all the road agents, Henry Plummer was their king and elected sheriff. Plummer’s notorious road-agent band terrorized the highways until a group of ordinary citizens resolved to take the responsibility of social governance into their hands.

I love reading and watching videos about Dick. I’ve already watched most of the stories in this book on YouTube but the book still didn’t disappoint. I listened to the whole thing in 2 sittings. The last chapters are the best. My only complaint would be it’s too short, I want more! Lol
