Incredibly entertaining
Revisado: 04-04-24
Narrated by the GOAT himself so, as you can imagine, you'll find yourself laughing out loud (apparently, frowned upon in the office). You'll find yourself realizing how many movie quotes are truly embedded in your memory! And more importantly, you'll find yourself realizing what a gem God gifted us in Mel Brooks.

The problem with this audiobook...
Revisado: 03-13-23
The problem with this audiobook is that it's visually enticing. The manner in which Marty describes events, situations and characters is extremely vivid. Marty jumps into character voices at every turn making the whole experience come to life.
The problem with this audiobook is that it is simply HILARIOUS! I often found myself at the office or grocery store with earbuds and chuckling or literally laughing out loud!
The problem with this audiobook is that it really underscores those base elements of life: experiences and relationships. Whether it's a silly anecdote or a heartfelt experience, this audiobook brings them to the forefront. Of particular note was Marty's heart wrenching experience with the loss of family; specially his wife. This made my eyes water...ON A WORK DAY (not cool Marty)!
If you're okay with these problems, then I cannot recommend this audiobook enough!

Historia
For more than 40 years, the US government has researched extrasensory perception, using it in attempts to locate hostages, fugitives, secret bases, and downed fighter jets, to divine other nations' secrets, and even to predict future threats to national security. The intelligence agencies and military services involved include CIA, DIA, NSA, DEA, the navy, air force, and army - and even the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Now, for the first time, New York Times best-selling author Annie Jacobsen tells the story of these radical, controversial programs.

Warm, hilarious and grounding
Revisado: 10-27-22
Leslie allows the reader a glimpse into his life as an actor growing up gay in the deep south (Chattanooga, Tennessee). His family stories are warm and his Hollywood stories are hilarious. Yet Leslie returns to the simplicity and traditions of the south to reground himself.
This book is not intended to pound the reader with "gay stuff", but it does highlight universal truths and struggles. For example, independent of whom you love, we all face the pain of losing a loved one, feel the strong influence of parents in our lives, and the fact that many of us struggle to find ourselves in the world.
This is a brief book that left me wanting more. I trust you'll enjoy it immensely.

To her surprise, Jason, a brilliant economics professor at NYU, had other plans, and they married the following summer. For Angela, the marriage turned out to be a chance to reboot her life. She and her son were finally able to move out of her mother's home to Manhattan, where no one knew about her tragic past.

Boring

I gave it a 'go' to about 50% of the through. There is no excitement, no interest, just dull. The book's description was more interesting than the actual book. I do not recommend.

Historia
The transition from President Donald J. Trump to President Joseph R. Biden Jr. stands as one of the most dangerous periods in American history. But as number one internationally best-selling author Bob Woodward and acclaimed reporter Robert Costa reveal for the first time, it was far more than just a domestic political crisis. Woodward and Costa interviewed more than 200 people at the center of the turmoil, resulting in more than 6,000 pages of transcripts - and a spellbinding and definitive portrait of a nation on the brink.

Historia
When Newton discovered the law of gravity, he unified the rules governing the heavens and the Earth. Since then, physicists have been placing new forces into ever-grander theories. But perhaps the ultimate challenge is achieving a monumental synthesis of the two remaining theories—relativity and the quantum theory. This would be the crowning achievement of science, a profound merging of all the forces of nature into one beautiful, magnificent equation to unlock the deepest mysteries in science: What happened before the Big Bang?
