Great story, terrible narrator.
Revisado: 10-20-24
I enjoyed the story and the writing. However I felt this narrator was too monotone for this writing. There was no emotion in the voice.

I was captivated
Revisado: 09-11-24
I adored getting to know these girls from different religious backgrounds bonded in friendship, navigating the new American lifestyle in the early 1990’s Boston. Trials, love, heartache, loss… so much went into this story it was sad for me that the book ended. I wish I could follow them along some more and get to know them.

I truly enjoyed listening to this story. I love historic fiction and transporting to a time before I was born. The story gave me an insight of a time before technology when we depended on letters to find out how our loved ones are doing, especially in a difficult time of war.

Loved this! There is a review up above that mentions sexuality and same sex relationships warning readers and that couldn’t be more far from the truth. This storyline was tasteful, easy and not at all the foundation of the book. It was very well written and sounds like we may get a sequel! Here’s to hoping!!!
