Historia
Legendary stage and movie star Sir Nigel Bellingham arrives on Cape Cod to star in a stage production of The Hound of the Baskervilles put on by the West London Theater Festival. When Sir Nigel, some of the cast, and the director visit the Sherlock Holmes Bookshop at 222 Baker Street, Gemma Doyle realizes that Sir Nigel is not at all suited to the role. He's long past his prime and an old drunk to boot. The cast is not happy, but the show must go on. Before the play opens, Jayne's mother arranges a fundraising afternoon tea to be catered by Mrs. Hudson's Tea Room. The tea is a huge success, but, when it's time to leave, Sir Nigel has gone missing - only to be found at the bottom of the rocky cliff, dead. When the police focus their attention on Jayne's mother despite numerous other suspects, the game is once again afoot, and it's up to Gemma and Jayne to clear Jayne's mother's name.

Ok Story but Reader Not So Much
Revisado: 12-27-23
Not my favorite series with a not particularly likable main character but ok. Reader couldn’t keep a consistent accent for most of the characters. She was all over the place. Took me awhile to get through the book. I would avoid audio versions of this series with this reader.

Historia
The aborigines, who knew how many eagles flew over their inland desert, must have known who put the dead white man into Lucifer's Couch. But no one in Hall's Creek, white or black, reported seeing the stranger - and there were no tracks around the meteor crater. Was the murder done by whites or blacks or by both in collusion? Bony listened to the ancient tribal legends and found truth nobody wanted to believe.

Extremely of its time
Revisado: 01-12-23
Although a fan of the series, the extremely racist and sexiest tone in this book was almost more than I could take. Finished the book but I would skip unless you really want to complete the series. I understand as a historian the value of an unvarnished tale but this pushed me to my limit for recreational reading. The reader as always was perfect.

Seriously Dumb
Revisado: 03-01-22
I love fluffy reads but the story and main character for Live and Let Chai was simply dumb. The reader didn’t help. Baffled by the positive reviews.

Irritating Heroine
Revisado: 09-08-21
The main female characters are beyond silly and the heroine in particular is awful. I skipped around to get through it. I am all for light fiction but ugh. No more of this series. Generally like the author so was surprised at how truly bad this was.

Ghost kills story
Revisado: 07-22-21
The most irritating part of this book is the completely unnecessary ghost character. I love paranormal mysteries but this aspect here was done badly, more of a distraction than a necessary part. Book would have be much better without it. Reader performance was good and so lower rating all due to writing. Could be reading a hard copy (to skip through repetitive dialogue) might make this an ok read.

Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

Suspense

Can’t say much without spoilers. Kept me reading/listening so was hooked. The back and forth between characters and time got old and distracting.

Interesting Story
Revisado: 08-26-19
A little over the top in deliver but I stuck with it because I saw her on the dog whisperer’s channel and she was interesting - and I loved her dog .
Story is very much for a younger audience but having gone to school with many deaf students I appreciated what she had to say about her school experience. Bulling was awful from hearing kids.
