Historia
Two decades ago, Jedi clans clashed in service to feuding lords. Sickened by this endless cycle, a sect of Jedi rebelled, seeking to control their own destiny and claim power in service of no master. They called themselves Sith. The Sith rebellion failed, succumbing to infighting and betrayal, and the once rival lords unified to create an Empire...but even an Empire at peace is not free from violence.

Not your Mamma's and Papa's Star Wars
Revisado: 12-16-21
But a very very good novelization of a short video created fro the Star Wars: Visions short on Disney. The writing and story telling are both very well done and the Narrators voice just seems natural and perfect for the tone of the story. This is a beautifully written book and maybe one of my new favorites.

They called it the Event. The Event changed everything. The earthquakes came first, including the Big One, shattering the Pacific Rim and plunging the world into chaos. Then, the seas came, the skies opened, and the never-ending rain began. But as bad as that was, there is something worse.

Historia
The stories in The Dying Earth introduce dozens of seekers of wisom and beauty, lovely lost women, wizards of every shade of eccentricity with their runic amulets and spells. We meet the melancholy deodands, who feed on human flesh and the twk-men, who ride dragonflies and trade information for salt. There are monsters and demons. Each being is morally ambiguous: The evil are charming, the good are dangerous. All are at home.

I loved it
Revisado: 04-24-21
I love this series from beginning to end. This series not only created an extraordinary new sub-genre of fantasy but set a high standard for any other author wishing to create their own similar worlds. The world of The Dying Earth, set beneath a red sun that occasionally flickers and goes out, like a candle or a light bulb nearing its end, is one full of scheming, decadent people. It is hard to actually find a traditional hero within the pages of these stories. The first book contains stories of different characters from Rogues to Wizards to a woman who finds everything she sees to be unutterably disgusting. These stories will not appeal to everyone but to those of us that they do, they are an amazing contribution to fiction.
The narrator is perfect for the stories as well.

With Conan the Cimmerian, Robert E. Howard created more than the greatest action hero of the twentieth century---he also launched a genre that came to be known as sword and sorcery. But Conan was not the first archetypal adventurer to spring from Howard's fertile imagination.

I have always been a fan of RE Howard
Revisado: 04-24-21
This is a collection of the Solomon Kaine stories by the great R.E. Howard. The narrator is a perfect match for the tone of the stories. The adventures themselves are typical of R.E. Howard, just set in the fantastical version of our past that only Howard could have created and made to seem so real. Howard may not have been a prefect writer but was one of the greatest storytellers of his time and deserves to be remembered.

Loved this story
Revisado: 04-24-21
Everything about the story just worked for me. From the narrators voice to the writing and the story itself. The world seems to be intriguing and interesting as well. The quest for a weapon to win a war was very well done and the setting was somewhat unique as well.

Historia
In a meteoric career that spanned a mere 12 years, Robert E. Howard single-handedly invented the genre that came to be called sword and sorcery. From his fertile imagination sprang some of fiction's most enduring heroes. Yet while Conan the Cimmerian is indisputably Howard's greatest creation, it was in his earlier sequence of tales featuring Kull, a fearless warrior with the brooding intellect of a philosopher, that Howard began to develop the distinctive themes and the richly evocative blend of history and mythology .

Todd McLaren Alice Lee perfect the voice for narrating this book. the background information on the life of Robert E Howard and the discussion of the origins of Kull presented at the end of the audiobook are welcome additions. I really do recommend this book for anyone who has a love for pulp Fiction, fantasy, sword & sorcery or for the writings of Robert E Howard.
