This has to be the most annoying audiobook EVER! The whispers were agonizingly painful to my ears. The narrator made the characters sound stilted and living in mediaeval times. Becca was as stupid as rocks and so freaking immature to be a college graduate. I hated her. She needed to get out her head and then beat herself with a bat until she found a brain. The fact she was stupid to believe the guys would die if she bonded with them was outlandish. Then she ran after doing a majority of the nasty with them. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

This author may have a vivid imagination but she needs to dial it back with the empty-headed females. Dumb characters and an awful plot made this unbearable to listen to for 19 hours. I want a refund and a good brainwashing to get those darn whispers out my head.

This the first time I have ever said this for any book or audiobook: Pass on this and find a book worthy of the money. This one was NOT worth the credit or cash. Even more regretful is losing the hours of life listening to it. Don't believe? Listen to the sample first. First clue this book is bad, black woman wanting to be a nun when the boyfriend dies. Not happening.

Strong Female Doesn't Mean Nasty Female

Again, I couldn't finish listening because Shayla can't distinguish the meaning of strong female vs. witchy female. Jolie is such a witch that I no longer cared what happened to her. I wanted her to get her teeth punched out so that she fell off that high horse she placed herself on. There is a difference between being driven and being mean. Jolie was nasty to her employees, she was nasty to her sister, she was nasty to Heath. She was just a nasty person personality-wise. There was nothing to redeem her character for me.

A career driven woman has set goals, but is not necessarily mean to everyone who crosses her path. It seems Ms. Black's Female leads in all her books are either witchy, stupid, and all are over-sexed. There is never a middle grown for a woman in her books to be normal with regular flaws.

Heath morphed into Alex from Wicked for You. In that book he was the perfect gentleman, that opened doors for women, was refined and classy. In this book he rode a motorcycle and had sex with meaningless women not caring about their need. He was even a little nasty to the sister. But that was his version of letting her down easy... yikes!

Anyhow, we did not get a glance of that side of him and it was shocking to find out he was not the distinguished gentleman I thought him to be, but another horndog ready to get it on with anyone willing. Any why he wanted that pinched-up Joile was beyond me.

Summing it up, this book was not for me. Maybe I should take a break from reading or listening to Ms. Black's books where the concepts are way too similar. It's like each book replaces the characters and locations, but runs with the same storyline.

The drawback from not listening to her books means I won't hear Christian Fox. He is amazing regardless how bad the storylines are. But there are some things he can't fix.

I try to finish every book or audiobook I read or listen to. This one started off good and went downhill from there. The narration was not good and that threw the story off. The hero was too needy and whined worse than any female. He got on my nerves and I couldn't take it anymore. I'll pass on book 2.

I like this author but this story was exhausting to the end. For a twenty chapter audiobook, it took me four days to finish it. Mystery should have stayed a mystery. She was annoying, childish, and not so smart. If Axel were a real person, he would not want a woman like her other than for sex. The insta-love was head-whipping. One time in bed and that was all it took for them to fall in love. I say that, because if he had any feelings of desire for her five years prior, he would've remembered her even through the stupid disguise. The infatuation was one-sided otherwise.

Then the sex was continuous regardless of the peril situations they found themselves facing. They made time for bondage, kneeling on rice, and using a cutting board to carry out the sexual torture (yuck... who does that? And can you say unsanitary?)

I had figured out the culprit early on but suffered through because I have to finish an audiobook no matter what unless it is really awful. This one wasn't awful, just not good and predictable. I did like Heath. Although, his confession of love for the twit was a turn off. He should've wanted more in a woman and not the immaturity Mystery had to offer.

Then Mullings saying Mystery's mother would be so proud of what she'd grown up to be? I'm still scratching my head on that. What was she other than a horney, whining, running, and spoiled rich girl?

Christian Fox was amazing as usual, but did sound a little bored as the story lagged along. Would I recommend this audiobook? Probably not unless you're looking for something to lull you to sleep. I'll skip the rest of the series if the men are as weak as Axel and the females as dumb as Mystery.

Boring and a Slight Ripoff of Another TV Show

I listened to book 1 and 2 before reviewing. The introduction to the characters were good. As I was listening, scenes from Scandal kept floating in my head. Had the characters had the same names, based in Washington and the female actor a fixer and the male actor the POTUS, and the handsome bag boy secret agent, then you can imagine this book. Not much originality went into creating this story since it was already written by another. Change the names, tweak the situations, and give a shout out to the creator of the actual show, and that should be enough to avoid copyright infringements.

However, the story itself was boring. The characters were boring. Female is fresh, beautiful, exciting, and young. Male is washed up but still has some cereal in the box. He hasn't lost his looks but a drunk wife is bringing him down and he just doesn't have the heart to get rid of her useless behind. Of course he feels guilty for doing anything since the wife is older and made his career.

Then he gets the role of a lifetime on Scandal (oops not that show). Anyhow, he meets the woman of his dreams. She is what dreams are made of, but totally off limits since he is married to Milly (oops not her). He is also jealous of another actor on the show who is not married, very handsome and interested in Olivia (oops not her). Jake (oops not him) could be an actual threat to the woman he knows he can't have.

I guess if you're actor, then dry humping, and passionately kissing your co-star is not consider infidelity until it actually happens. The male lead is so lonely and misunderstood why he is trapped in a marriage he can't resolve. The heroine takes pity on him of course. Then the action takes off when the wife suddenly realizes what she might lose.

Anyhow, both listens were quiet uneventful, unlike the television show.

This story was a new adventure for me. While I will not get into the trend of this genre, is because I can't picture it in my head. Too much exchanging of body fluids and other stomach-turning events for my preference. However, the story will take you on an adventure. The beginning of the story is just way too long and drawn out. Then there are the love interests for the heroine. I don't how anyone can talk a person into this type of lifestyle, but anything is possible in the world we live today.

While the guys were not afraid to lay out what they wanted, including a schedule on when each man would be with the female alone instead of in a group setting, the female lead was a runner. She ran her behind all the way to the south to live in a haunted house (owned by a Madam not surprised) to get away from these guys who happen to be her bosses (another yuck factor). Once they convinced her how wonderful life could be with the three of them, she was all in.

Side note: Black women aren't that easy to convince to do anything. We have way too many questions. And why these authors not of color, insist on creating women of color as oversexed and desperate is beyond me. But to each his own.

On a personal note, the younger guy should've been labeled differently by his actions. He should be in a corner playing with Tonka trucks and watching superhero cartoons, not involved in a menage relationship. would not recommend.

First, the narrator came across as a creepy old lady. It absolutely killed any listening experience. But, she didn't have to work to hard to kill the story because it was dead out of the gate. What a stupid storyline and I refused to insult my intelligence by continuing with it. Both H/h were total idiots. If the narration hadn't stopped me from listening, the bad storyline would. I've had this audiobook in my library for months and still can't finish it. Would not recommend.

This was a good story too. Lilia got on my nerves a little but the shock of seeing someone after time had passed with nothing said between the two could be shocking. After that it was just on for these two. Didn't matter if they were in a closet or garage. Where they could get their groove on, they did. Narrator was good.

Side note: I've read the series and decided the story is developed from the same stencil with "insert here" spaces for the new brother or love interest. Never really any excitement to make me hurry to listen.

Another good story with good narration. My only drawback is the ages of the characters. They should be a little older for what they are doing, but not my story so not my right to age them.
