When Vicksburg fell to Union forces under General Grant in July 1863, the balance turned against the Confederacy in the trans-Appalachian theater. The Federal success along the river opened the way for advances into central and eastern Tennessee, which culminated in the bloody battle of Chickamauga and then a struggle for Chattanooga. Chickamauga is usually counted as a Confederate victory, albeit a costly one.

Well Written, Well Narrated

As a history buff and researcher, I thoroughly enjoyed the way Mr. Woodworth wrote this material. It was a refreshing look at a critical time during the war. As an audiobook narrator and listener, I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Nevitt's delivery of the material. It is professional and well worth the listen. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the history of this time period. It does more than just give facts and dry details. Both men successfully brought this book to life for me. Being well acquainted with the Chatanooga area, the scenes unfolded for me in my mind's eye as I listened.
This audiobook was delivered to me free of charge at my request in exchange for my review.

I have always loved Jim Cymbala. He is straightforward and honest. Highly recommend this book. Dick Fredricks does an excellent job of narration. Definitely brings the book to life.

A Useful Book

I found the book to be very useful for remembrance and for study. I recommend it to anyone seeking to better understand the Word. The author does a good job of review and follows up for each parable. The writing is clear and concise. I had a little trouble with the narrator. He too was clear and concise, but the narration was robotic in places which detracted somewhat from the narration. He is a good narrator, just wish he sounded a little more natural. That should not be a deal breaker for obtaining and listening to the book. It wasn't for me. Overall, I liked the book.

Would you listen to The Hum of Angels again? Why?
The book's author aims to point one to God and His Son, Jesus. The very thing he says the angels do. I believe he accomplished this. This is one of the most concise and biblical accounts of angelic research that I have come across. Very worthwhile to get at the truth of what angels are or are not, why they exist, how they operate and how we should view them.
What about Bob Souer’s performance did you like?
The narrator was very clear. He ebbed and flowed with the book and the meaning of the book. He did a great job of portraying the author's intent.
