Historia
Opposites attack! When the Magelord Minalan the Spellmonger’s two apprentices, Tyndal and Rondal, were knighted after the battle of Timberwatch, they were dubbed Knights Magi: A new class of nobility for distinguished High Magi. Designed to combine the pursuit of arcane knowledge with the noble aspirations of chivalry, it elevated them above common warmage...in theory. The problem was they had no idea how to be a Knight Mage...because no one had ever been one before.

Finally, some detailed and deep character development
Revisado: 05-11-24
A coming-of-age entry for the apprentices, great story and development and a enjoyable departure from the battlefield/theatre of war chaos of the previous books.

It was a day like any other when suddenly the world changed. The universe reached a threshold humanity didn’t even know existed, and it was time to finally be integrated into the vast multiverse. A place where power is the only thing anyone can truly rely on.

Written by, narrated by, written for cringelords
Revisado: 10-03-23
Awful. Absolute waste of however many hours it is at the chapter 56 mark. It baffles me that the author thinks so highly of their writting and world building that they assumed we would suffer through 70 something chapters of such infantile, cringy, pandering trash. Jake is a Gary Stu and the other chatacters are clearly different versions of who the author wishes they could be. Partnered with the lackluster writting, its plainly evident that ZoGaRtH is either clever and self aware (doubt) or he wears fedoras unironically, says "m'lady" to women, is about 400lbs, doesnt understand social dynamics and has almost zero life experience outside of working at a hobby shop. Characters all speak to each other with the same personality, vernacualr and sentence structure - no unique personalities. This makes me strongly believe this guy has no clue how other people work outside of his tiny, smooth brain. This smoldering pile of fecal matter belongs on a backwater page of some fanfic website, not on Audible or anywhere else slightly credible.

Unoriginal
Revisado: 11-18-22
Hard to stay interested in yet another retelling of the "grieving rebel" story. It was quite dull at points, speckled with obnoxious segues to black pride and feminism that the author clearly feels strongly about. The narration was top notch and I liked ecological elements that were obviously well researched.

Historia
Ashok Vadal was once a member of the highest caste in all of Lok. As a Protector, he devoted his life to upholding the Law, rooting out those who still practiced the old ways and delivering justice with his ancestor blade Angruvadal. None was more merciless than he in stamping out the lingering belief in gods and demons among the casteless. His brutality was legendary and celebrated. But soon Ashok learned that his life to that point had been a lie. He himself, senior member of the Protector Order, was casteless. He had been nothing more than an unwitting pawn in a political game.

Historia
After the War of the Gods, the demons were cast out and fell to the world. Mankind was nearly eradicated by the seemingly unstoppable beasts until the gods sent the great hero, Ramrowan, to save them. He united the tribes, gave them magic, and drove the demons into the sea. Ever since, the land has belonged to man, and the oceans have remained an uncrossable hell, leaving the continent of Lok isolated.

Good but slightly flawed.

It was good but had some predictable tropes, which is very unlike Abercrombie and his previous work. Certainly living in the shadow of the first trilogy.
