My first book by this author and I enjoyed it.

Since it’s a dark romance, I thought it would be darker and that the MMC would be cruel to Sofia. I was surprised and happy to find out that Jax is quite the opposite. He is so sweet and caring to Sofia.

They initially meet after her wedding to his half-brother where she learned that her groom had been cheating on her for the past year. They have instant chemistry and end up having a one night stand.

Fast forward two years later…where he finds her again
to learn that she has a daughter—his daughter. They have obstacles in their way of being together, though.

I thought the Mafia storyline and the romance are both handled equally. Jax’s relationship with his Mafia brothers (Alexei, Nikolai and Mikhail) is so strong. They are all a family and their banter is fun. They are always there for Jax AND Sofia.

Check your trigger warnings as there are some heavy themes.

The audio is dually narrated by Sebastian York and CJ Bloom. Both are excellent and brought the characters to life.

Thank you to Blue Nose Audio for the #gifted audio. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the story of Caleb, the drummer for Red Card Riot, and Aubrey. They both love the little girl, Raine, that he fathered and want to do right by her. Caleb hasn't always done the right things in his life and there were some hoops and learning curves for him. He had to be a model citizen to prove to the courts he was fit to take care of Raine, but he was also fighting an attraction to Aubrey (his baby mama's best friend). It was so sweet watching him learn how to be a dad and interact with Raine.

I loved all the tropes the author has in this book.

Rockstar romance
Age gap
Nanny/Caretaker
Single dad
Forced proximity

The audiobook is narrated in duet by Sean Masters and Andi Arndt. Sean's deep, growly voice was perfect for Caleb. Perfect casting. Andi is wonderful, as usual. Raine's sweet baby voice was so adorable, too.

I enjoyed this even more than the first book in the series!

Maverick King is in need of a public makeover after his latest “incident” puts him on the baseball Injured List. Sadie’s ex-boyfriend (whom she broke up with after she caught him cheating on her) won’t leave her alone. When Mav comes to her rescue from the ex, a picture of them goes viral and soon they are in a fake dating agreement to help each other out.

Mav is known as the tattooed bad boy of baseball, but he is really misjudged by everyone. He grew up in foster care with no one but his two “brothers” to rely on. He doesn’t trust easily and is very protective of those close to him.

I really liked that the author spent the time for Mav and Sadie to get to know each other before the spice started. Feelings were starting to happen between them and it seemed so much more genuine.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Dane Anderson and Heather Firth. She was perfect as the sweet Sadie and his deep, growly voice portrayed the tortured hero spectacularly.

I love a good baseball romance and this was wonderful. It starts out spicy with Ronan and Willow meeting on a flight to Hawaii. They end up having a spicy night fling where they think they will never see each other again. When Ronan is traded to the Vancouver Tridents baseball team (where Willow works) that all changes.

Willow tries to keep her distance from Ronan, but eventually gives in to the pull to be with him. Ronan is a great book boyfriend and a wonderful father to his young daughter. He’s sweet, passionate and protective. Willow is a strong woman who kicks butt in her job and she knows it.

Wonderful secondary characters and teammates. Looking forward to Maverick’s story next.

This is my first book by this author. I definitely should NOT have started in book three of this series. While it can be read as a standalone like I did, I think I would have benefited more if I had read books one and two first. There is a lot of talk about Alicia’s brother.

Despite that, I enjoyed the romance between Mark and Alicia. Trying to move on with her life after a past trauma, she moves out of her parent’s home and into an apartment. That’s where she meets Mark, her neighbor, and his dog, Ghost.

Both Mark and Alicia have pain in their pasts, but both seem to soothe each other’s souls. Alicia comes alive when she is with Mark. There is a third act breakup that has to do with the prior books. It makes sense for the story, though.

I listened to the audiobook narrated in dual format by Angelina Rocca and Jason Clarke. Jason is PERFECT for Mark. What is he not perfect in? LOL
It took me a little bit to adjust to the female narrator, though, but I got used to her tone by the end.

I listened to this book, narrated by J.F. Harding and Emma Wilder in a duet narration with dual POVs. Wonderful narration!

The story starts out strong. Hailey is in a relationship with Steve, a narcissist, emotional abuser.

The whole premise of this book is about Hailey getting out of the abusive relationship, getting her self confidence back and becoming her own self. She needs to do things for herself and not because it pleases someone else. It just seemed like it took way too long in the book to get to a healing place and then, BAM, a short realization moment. I wanted more of the healed Hailey.

I loved Jax. He is a perfect book boyfriend. Kind, supportive, protective, funny and a good friend. He called Hailey “Baby girl” waaaaayyyyyyy too much, though. I cringed when hearing it after the first few times. The spice is spicing and Jax is H-O-T perfect.

An enemies to lovers holiday romcom between Cole Black and Storee Taylor. They are both competing in the town’s Christmas Kringle contest to see who is the most Christmas-y of them all. This is set in the town of Kringle, where Christmas is celebrated all year.

Cole and Storee knew each other from when she used to visit her aunt Cindy, but it’s been ten years since she has been back. Aunt Cindy broke her hip so she and her sister are back in Kringle to help. Cole liked Storee then and much to his grumpy self, he still likes her now. She drives him mad and they have been bickering back and forth since they met at eight years old.

The competitions are fun, Cole’s best friend “Max” is awesome and the spice is very spicy. A candy cane!

I really enjoyed this. The author gave Cole a great backstory and the reasons he was distant and “grumpy.” He and Storee were very cute together once they got past their initial meeting. They actually liked each other even though they were competitors.

I listened as well as read along. The audiobook is the way to go, if you can and are a fan. It is duet style with a full cast. Five narrators! One of them is the narrator of the story and when he interacts with Cole it’s quite funny. Five stars for the audiobook!

Hardy Hopper sees his best friend from college getting married and feels lonely, so he thinks getting back together with Maple, his ex, would be a great idea. (Even though, they haven't seen each other in ten years. LOL) Everly Plum has been crushing on Hardy for a long time. When he enlists her help in getting back Maple, they end up spending a lot of time together. Unknowingly to Hardy, he is falling in love with Everly. Their goofiness and banter were awkward at times and hilarious.

This is a super slow burn romance, which I loved. Nothing spicy happened on the pages until about the 75% point. I loved that the story had time to develop for them, though, like a lot of books by this author, it is quite long.

I listened to the audio narrated in duet by Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke. Definitely an A+ narration. Duet narrations are my favorite to listen to. Both narrators were wonderful.

The Arrangement is book #2 in the Brewer Family series. It is a dual POV, billionaire, age gap, friends to lovers, boss/employee, marriage of convenience romance.

Chloe is Jason Brewer’s Executive Assistant at Brewer Air. They have an innocent flirtation between them, but nothing more. Not that he doesn’t want more. He does. Chloe barely has time to do anything besides work and take care of her grandmother.

Jason’s brothers bet him that he won’t get married and stay married for six months. When Chloe learns of the bet she knows this could really help her and her grandmother. I love that she took it upon herself to say she would marry Jason. How can he say no when she is everything he has ever wanted? How can he convince her in staying forever?

I listened to the audio narrated perfectly by Amy McFadden and Sebastian York. Amy McFadden is a new to me narrator and I really enjoyed her narration. She fit Chloe perfectly.

The Best of All is the story of Liam Davies and Zoe Valentine, who are awarded joint guardianship of two year old Mira, after the passing of their friends Chris and Amy. This is book two (following The Best Laid Plans) and can definitely be read as a standalone.

Zoe and Liam have known each other for many years, but she always thought he hated her. And now they must co-parent? Each have their own baggage that they bring with them.

I listened to the audiobook narrated wonderfully by Samantha Brentmoor and Shane East. I haven’t listened to Shane narrate a lot and I have been missing out! Every accent he does is so good. Plus, his voice for young Mira-perfect! I really think the audio helped me connect more with this story and characters. It’s really slow burn, dealing more with their grief and taking care of Mira. The steam doesn’t really start until the last third of the book.
