Could be better

a little light on the description, unless the author's talking about a sexy person. I enjoyed the end more than anything. The narrator seemed to be bored halfway through, which could have helped this book in the excitement department.

Historia
When Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published their Children's and Household Tales in 1812, followed by a second volume in 1815, they had no idea that such stories as "Rapunzel", "Hansel and Gretel", and "Cinderella" would become the most celebrated in the world. Yet few people today are familiar with the majority of tales from the two early volumes, since in the next four decades the Grimms would publish six other editions, each extensively revised in content and style.

Not as exciting as you might think.

I thought this was going to be a great book! The narrators sound bored half the time. Some of the tales repeat, since they stem from common stories.

Historia
Following the enormous success of 2004 bestseller and critics' favorite Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Susanna Clarke delivers a delicious collection of ten stories set in the same fairy-crossed world of 19th-century England. With Clarke's characteristic historical detail and diction, these dark, enchanting tales unfold in a slightly distorted version of our own world, where people are bedeviled by mischievous interventions from the fairies.

Not as engulfing as Jonathan Strange
Revisado: 11-06-15
Simon Prebble is amazing as a narrator. The short stories themselves are a little on the dry side. Though the absurdity is quite entertaining. If you liked Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, I recommend you give this a try.

Historia
English magicians were once the wonder of the known world, with fairy servants at their beck and call; they could command winds, mountains, and woods. But by the early 1800s they have long since lost the ability to perform magic. They can only write long, dull papers about it, while fairy servants are nothing but a fading memory.

Slow, yet wondrous and captivating
Revisado: 10-17-15
These are the words I use to describe this book. I would not recommend taking on this book unless you are willing to commit time and effort. It is a feat to finish this audiobook in itself. I finished in about a month and half, so the time is well worth your monthly credit. I enjoyed Norrell's magical efforts during the Napoleonic Wars appealing and interesting to hear. It's characters, even the minor ones, are intriguing and fully realized. A lot of them coming to grips with the absurdity of this world, and the excitement and adventure of the next.

This audiobook is a wonderful journey over the past 30-years or so of Felicia Day's life and how she came to be the woman she is today. I recommend this book for anyone who is affected with anxiety and by never ending life changes. The changes pretty much never end, it gets overwhelming. It's great to see Felicia Day pull through in this book!

Historia

Its setting of NYC is dear to narrator Diane Havens, a native New Yorker, a Brooklynite.

Some of this recording is quote worthy
Revisado: 03-17-15
Walt Whitman was a man of profound observation. His artistic voice is a vibrant concoction of syncopation and clarity. The voice actress has a soothing voice that does not flow in the same stream. Diane's voice almost sounds bored at times. I'm afraid she didn't know which lines to emphasize, so the entire 15 minute performance comes off a bit monotonous
