Historia
Just my luck - my new next door neighbor is a unicorn. Yep, the British hottie is clearly a mythical man because - get this - he's a sexy, witty, charming, big-hearted single dad. Who, wait for it, wants to find Mrs. Right and get hitched. He’s a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of man, and it’s a darn shame I’m not on the market. If I were, his accent alone would melt me. Add in the fact that he's a veterinarian, and my animal-loving heart would be flip flopping.

A Simple Romance Novel
Revisado: 03-23-25
A single man moves next door to a single woman, they have an affair, fall in love, get married and live happily ever after. In the process there are some pretty steamy sex scenes. The novel is well written though on the simple side.

Historia
As passionate as it is profound, Atlas Shrugged is one of the most influential novels of our time. In it, Rand dramatizes the main tenets of objectivism, her philosophy of rational selfishness. She explores the ramifications of her radical thinking in a world that penalizes human intelligence and integrity.

Grateful for the abridgment
Revisado: 02-17-25
I'm glad it was abridged as the original is way too long for me to listen to. The narration was fine except his voice changed volume too much and was a little hard to hear at time, as I listen often in noisy environments.

Sad and Inspiring to Listen to
Revisado: 01-30-25
Based on a true story this is a recounting of the experience of a midwife who delivers babies in the worst place on Earth. It's very realistic and not a pleasant listen leaving you feeling sad. In the end it has a happy inspiring ending.

Good presentation of this novel
Revisado: 01-16-25
A novel based on Ayn Rand's philosophy of individualism and non conformity. I appreciated the abridged version as I just don't have the opportunity to listen to the 32 hours of the full book. It's a good window into Ayn Rand's thinking.

What is at the core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? What does justice demand of us in this conflict? This audiobook clarifies an intimidatingly complex issue - and upends conventional views about America’s stake in it. In this audiobook, Elan Journo explains the essential nature of the conflict and what has fueled it for so long. What justice demands, he shows, is that we evaluate both adversaries - and America's approach to the conflict - according to a universal moral ideal: individual liberty.

Mostly good advice
Revisado: 12-25-24
This is an easy to listen-to book read by the author. Most of the advice is good and useful, though some, I think, followed stereotypes. Still if someone is looking for a mate there is lots of good advice.

Good Adventure Story
Revisado: 12-17-24
This was a good audible book, well read with multiple voices and a Caribbean Sea theme. The story was OK but a bit implausible with too much gun stuff and shooting for my taste. I would have preferred a more realistic plot with more scuba diving theme.

Everything we know about how planets form and how life arises suggests that human civilization on Earth should not be unique. We ought to see abundant evidence of extraterrestrial activity - but we don't. Where is everybody? In this volume in the MIT Press Essential Knowledge series, science and technology writer Wade Roush examines one of the great unsolved problems in science: Is there life, intelligent or otherwise, on other planets?

Interesting but missing a PDF
Revisado: 09-17-24
It was an interesting listen and not too long by an appropriate and qualified author. Main issue I had is impossible to follow all the variables from the Drake equation discussed in the book. You really need a printed reference such as an added PDF to be able to follow this.

Interesting discussion of physics and cosmology
Revisado: 09-10-24
I enjoyed this discussion of history of physics and principles by such a famous author. Some concepts would be better explained in a printed book rather than an audiobook. But overall it was a good listen and not too long.
