Enjoying it so far, love the narrator

As an SF city born and raised I find it hard to stay in the story when nonexistant locations are used "Sea Park". I giggle when the local news calls BART "Bay Area Rapit Transit Subway". It's understandable that some things would be changed for legal reasons, but I've had to rewind quite a few times to refocus. The narrator really makes this audio book worth listening to.
EDIT: Finished and enjoyed. Great narration. I've never heard so many East Coast accents in the City, that was a mood killer :)

Stupendously Bad

Monotonous, unimaginative, flat narration with no emotion- painful to listen to.
Pathetic character
Awful wording
It was free, but I feel like I should be paid for my time and mental anguish.
"She couldn't understand why a man wouldn't complete a sexual act when presented with such an opportunity" Wellllll.....he cut his hand and is bleeding- which she pointed out to him, theyre cold and wet in his workplace, he's hunched over and gasping, things are breaking, there's a storm. Oh, and she's an annoying little shit...spoiled, full of herself, just dumb. BUT LETS SCREW, by all means?!?
The writing is a slap in the face....one thing, then another, tangents and changes that muddy everything. Words and phrases shoved together like someone trying to mask plagiarism in middle school. Cool it with the metaphors!

I confess, I listen while I swim. I'm entertained and time flies! I don't mind the language and gore. I like a good zombie tale. Gus and Scott have grown on me. Can tone down the anatomy adjusting and scratching though ;)

Like the idea of the apocalyptic tale enough to continue the stories. Enjoyed the next volumes much more. Gus has grown on me a bit. Ball-adjusting and alcoholism caused me some eye-rolling, but kept me entertained enough.

A campfire tale turned into a novel

Agree with the other poor reviews. Clichéd, stereotypical characters, so predictable. Long winded, overly drawn out filler. An editor could've chopped this down considerably! Agonizing listen. Im embarrassed to confess I lasted to the end, but I was trapped on a road trip. What a waste!
