Historia
"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

The main character(s) are terrible.
Revisado: 01-17-23
The main character is so incompetent, she doesn't know anything about the middle ages (and apparently the author isn't that well versed either,) she cries over murdered goblins (after the goblin tribe had tried to murder her multiple times,) ok, I suppose, she cries over the death of the goblin chief that tried to rape and murder her, Uh... Hm.. What? And she kvetching about everything. I'm sure I would be too if I suddenly found myself in a medieval world. But as a listener I don't want to listen to it every damn chapter.
Also the secondary main character (that for some reason is partially written in first person...?) Is completely unlikeable. She's not passively anti-social, she's actively antagonistic to pretty much everyone around her.
I had to stop, it was just too much cringe.
Oh, also you need to be sure that you can roll your eyes when the author vents whatever issue she has with men in general. Because "men" and "males" as problems get mentioned regularly.

Historia
Earth is conquered. The Shongairi have arrived in force, and humanity’s cities lie in radioactive ruins. In mere minutes, over half the human race has died. Master Sergeant Stephen Buchevsky, who thought he was being rotated home from his latest tour in Afghanistan, finds himself instead prowling the back country of the Balkans, dodging alien patrols and trying to organize the scattered survivors without getting killed.

You'll love the ending, or you'll hate it.
Revisado: 09-24-20
As you can no doubt guess from the other reviews that you will either love or hate the ending, and it does come about 95% out of left field.
I personally loved it, there's an inherent craziness of world-ending invasion that lends itself to an equally crazy ending. I actually had a funny thought very similar to the ending about a funny comedic story to write.
Love or hate it, I personally loved it.

Historia
Discover why Buddhism is such an astonishingly lively and adaptable religion with this series. In just 12 accessible lectures, you'll learn how Buddhism transformed the civilizations of India and much of Asia, and has now become a vital part of Western culture.Buddhism's core philosophy, as you'll learn, is that nothing is permanent-all is change. With this in mind, you'll plunge into an introductory look at this faith. You'll unpack the Buddhist idea that all of life is "suffering" and that there is no permanent self.

A Very Good Introduction; but not a Course.

Biased Professor
Revisado: 08-10-15
The professor is constantly trying to convert the listeners. I would have very very much preferred a straight up history and teaching on the sects/beliefs of Buddhism, I can go to a temple if I want a lecture on how to "get in touch with the Buddha."
