Historia
Arthur Parnassus lives a good life built on the ashes of a bad one. He’s the headmaster of a strange orphanage on a distant and peculiar island, and he hopes to soon be the adoptive father to the six dangerous and magical children who live there. Arthur works hard and loves with his whole heart so none of the children ever feel the neglect and pain that he once felt as an orphan on that very same island so long ago. He is not alone: joining him is the love of his life, Linus Baker, a former caseworker in the Department in Charge of Magical Youth.

Adjust your coziness expectations. This is heavier than the first one.

Wonderful continuation of a beautiful story
Revisado: 10-22-24
Loved the first book and the world. While the continuation was at times more difficult to read emotionally, the message is beautiful and I think the themes are extremely important. I love Klune, and love to proudly support ‘the anti JK Rowling’.

Historia
Twenty years ago, monsters rose on earth and began a new age of civilization. One where humans live in military-controlled, cramped and dirty cities along the coasts, and the majority of the United States is known as the Wastes. A lawless, desolate and dangerous place, teeming with monsters that have claimed the land for their own. Including Wyn the Soul Eater. He appears every three years, making his way across the country and slaughtering humans randomly, sucking them dry until they’re nothing but husks.

Good story, great Michael Lesley
Revisado: 02-16-23
Always a fan of Michael Lesley narration. I was suggested this after I fell in love with The Last of Us episode 3, and I have to say the world is very interesting. I’m hoping future books delve into the world further.

Historia
Long ago, in an age of mysticism, Walks with Spirits, a two-spirit woman, perceives voices whispering on the wind, and they empower her with the gift of calling animals. But who she truly wishes to call to her side is her childhood friend Laughing Brook. Daughter of a shaman and an herbalist midwife, Laughing Brook holds a prominent place in her society and bears the responsibilities it entails. She is training to be a healer like her mother, but her most compelling desire is to spend her life with Walks with Spirits.

Interesting listen
Revisado: 08-31-22
I’ve been looking to read/listen to more variety of stories and voices, and gave this one a try thanks to a free credit. I prefer not to read synopsis and read based on recommendations, so I was interested in where the story was going to go. It was slow at first, the genre different from what I am used to reading, but no matter how many times I paused for other books, I kept thinking about it and wanting to come back. It picked up in the second half and I was happy to feel strongly attached to the characters as the book wound down. Overall I recommend it.
