Ends abruptly
Revisado: 06-03-22
I had guessed at part of this ending but all of a sudden, the book just stops. As if it’s just been sliced away. I would not have started it, if I had known that. I liked the characters but this feels like it needs another book to end the story. Very disappointed in that. I’ve never had a book do that before. Did the author not know where to take the story or thought we should use our own imaginations? Ugh!

Historia
Ben's double life continues at the Royal Institute of Magic. To most, he's a talented apprentice and an exceptional spellshooter, but Ben is also a Guardian, responsible for uniting Elizabeth's Armour, the only artifact powerful enough to overthrow the evil dark elves. With two pieces of the armour secure, finding the third may be Ben's toughest challenge yet. His only clue is a magical key, a tenuous link to a legend called the Silver Dwarf.

Loved it
Revisado: 10-15-19
I am so into this series I listened to this book in one sitting. Not just for kids but for adults as well. I loved Harry Potter and the Charlie Bone series and think this one is just as good as those. I will be sorry when the series comes to an end.

Historia
Ben Greenwood is continuing his apprenticeship at the Royal Institute of Magic, hoping things will be slightly less complicated now that he has advanced to the second grade. Fat chance. Coupled with the sterner challenges that the second grade brings, there is also the small matter of the impending dark elf invasion, making life at the Institute even busier than usual. Ben is the only one who can stop them, by finding Elizabeth's armor and its Guardians.

Very good
Revisado: 10-04-19
This was good but the ending was a bit of a letdown, however, the action within the book was good. I really enjoyed the book.
Highly recommend the series even if the narrator is changed midstream.

Fantastic story!
Revisado: 09-28-19
This was a great book. The characters are excellently developed. It’s fairly easy to know the good vs the evil but also the bullied and the bullies, the conflicted and the determined.
Excellent for tweens and teens. Also for adults.

Disappointing ending
Revisado: 09-28-19
I loved this series of books but so far this was the worst. The story was convoluted and not as well written as the others but still not bad. The ending was simply abrupt. I was a bit confused as to why it ended as it did but it was still good.

Predictable

The narrator saves this book. The villain scenes are beyond cliche and the writing is not that suspenseful but it’s not a bad listen.

Historia
It was a crime that shocked the nation: the brutal murder in Chicago in 1924 of a child by two wealthy college students who killed solely for the thrill of the experience. Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb were intellectuals - too smart, they believed, for the police to catch them. When they were apprehended, state's attorney Robert Crowe was certain that no defense could save the ruthless killers from the gallows.

Very interesting
Revisado: 05-21-18
This book is interesting. I live in Illinois so I was very interested. This book does not go into depth of the reason for the depravity, just touched on it. It was very much about the trial and I found that interesting.
It really proves that then, as now, the rich are favored in the American judicial system. Not much had changed but then, I’m not sure how it could be.
If you have never heard this story before, I highly recommend it. It’s you are familiar with it, it holds little new but is still a good listen.

Typical Manson but more childhood
Revisado: 05-21-18
This book is unique as it takes us more into his youth which formed the adult monster. If you are interested in Manson it’s a good book but his story has been told so many times, it is really just “another Manson book”
Still, if you don’t know much about his youth, it’s interesting and I do recommend it.
