Another great Spanish learning tool from Olly

This is my fourth Olly Richards short story book, my third in Spanish and it is the best of the four. Olly Richards audio short stories are a great way to improve your listening comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and confidence with the Spanish language. The performance of volume 2 was great.
This volume used more descriptive words and phrases than volume 1 and discussed a few more abstract subjects.
One note for listeners with no formal Spanish language education: The default tense of most verbs is past, but can sometimes switch to present or future. So, you learn all three, but you should know that you are hearing mostly past tense.
I recommend watching Olly’s Storylearning videos to get a framework for how to get the most out of his books. I also recommend buying digital or physical copies of the book you are listening to so that you can clarify the vocabulary, spelling and grammar you heard on the audio version. The listening comprehension is key because listening and understanding can be a major challenge for learners when interacting with native speakers in a social or work setting. Listening first and reading second will greatly help build familiarity with the language and its structure.

A great story well presented

Another great audiobook from Olly Richards. This book was easier than his Spanish Short Stories Volume I, and took me less time to complete. The final thirty minutes introduced more abstract vocabulary than the rest of the book had, but that’s ok for a book meant to teach a language. Olly Richards audiobooks are a great way to use Audible credits and to build language skills and confidence.

Great way to learn Spanish

Listening to this book was a more natural way to learn Spanish than apps or other methods. It deserves close to five stars in all categories.
However, it didn’t include audio chapter summaries and comprehension questions as Richards has included in other language versions of this book (requiring learners to refer to the included PDF for those features).
Also, be aware that this narration and grammar seem to lean towards European grammar and pronunciation.
The verb tense also sometimes changes multiple times in a passage, which seems a little unnatural and can disorient a learner who is not familiar with Spanish verb tenses and conjugations.
The narrator also does not differentiate his character as much as narrators in other Richards audiobooks, requiring the learner to concentrate more closely.
This is still a great language-learning audiobook, and I recommend getting it. If you are new to Spanish and don’t have exposure to the vocabulary from previous education, I recommend buying the e-book or paperback to read along with on a second listening so that you can identify specific words. I also recommend watching Richards’s YouTube videos on storylearning, so that you can make the most of his books.

Well-written and comprehensive

Well-written business narrative with good historical perspective. Considerate and unbiased. To understand the scandal, you have to appreciate the context of the situation and the nature of the person(s) who dominated the corporation and its culture. This book delivers both.

Well structured, well written, well read

This is the best audiobook I have heard so far. The content is excellent, interesting and applicable to individual and organizational performance. The format of military example, then core principle, then application to business is effective and approachable. Having the authors read their work added a lot. A different narrator, unfamiliar with the terms and situations could really have ruined things for the listener. The book was short, with minimal fluff. Don't think twice about getting this book.
