Twisted Dark Tale
Revisado: 01-29-25
I can’t praise Three Trials enough. The narrator of these books is fantastic.
I’ve read and seen so many movies, TV shows, and books that it takes a lot to impress me. This book blew me away with the plot. The idea behind this series of who the characters really are is brilliant. I applaud the author for her creativity. The high ratings are well deserved.
There was a lot of thought put into this series starting with the countdown of books, 4, 3, 2,1.
The mystery behind the series kept me turning pages and playing a guessing game of who Keyla really was, as well as her 4 heartthrobs. She began figuring out the puzzle of who they were early on as foreshadowing in this book. The guys didn’t believe her hypothesis, but I thought the 4 Horsemen fit who they were the best.
Keyla had very strong powers. For no one but her guys being able to see her, not even the devil, I knew she had to be a powerful being and somehow linked to Hell. I still was not able to figure out who she was until it was revealed at the end, and boy was it a dozy—one I never would have guessed. Learning who they all were made everything justifiable in the past. The men being psycho, Keyla becoming a lot cockier in this book as well as a lot of the logic she had. The author played their personality traits perfectly.
As I mentioned, Ms. Cunning put a lot of thought into this story. I absolutely loved how she took a little traditional folklore and completely put her own unique spin on it.
Three Trials was an awesome adventure starting off in the belly of Hell. The romance picked up a notch, and the 4 Psychos finally start to show their gratitude for Key. They’re not really the saying “thank you” type—they rather show their appreciation by handing out other pleasurable ways
.
This book was paced with mixing the action and romance with just the right potion. All of the guys began to grow on me as they finally opened up.
Keyla played this game of favorites, which could switch at the drop of a dime. Her faves ranged, depending on which guy was the sweetest at the moment, or who gave her the best endearment, had her back, or even the best pleasure.
By the end of the book, the steam picked up 3 notches. Ms. Cunning’s nailed her Harem scene in this book. I assumed that it might not happen due to it being a slow built. When I saw it was leaning that way I was a little skeptical. But the scene had just enough details to make it hot, but not overly vulgar. Reading it totally changed my mind about Harem. I’m definitely into it if it’s written in a more graceful way.
Jude #4, Kai #3, Ezekiel #2, & Gage #1 have inched their way into book boyfriend status. I think Ezekiel and Kai are my faves. But it also varies on who is being the sweetest at the time.
There was so much that I loved about Three Trails. I could go on and on, but I’d be writing this review until the middle of the night if I did.. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us.

I’m head-over-heels in love with my best friend, although I can’t pinpoint exactly when Reeve Lancaster became my entire world. I was there as his star ascended - just like I’d always known it would - and there wasn’t a prouder person on the planet. Until he crushed my heart into itty-bitty pieces, forcing me to fly halfway around the world to escape the gut-wrenching pain.

Holy Moses Brother Love Triangle Stars!
Revisado: 11-18-24
This book was a fast pace listen despite the length. Although I do feel like it could’ve been shorter. I liked how the 1st half dealt with one relationship and the conflict with Viv’s 1st love. And how the 2nd half started a brand new relationship. Since I read this story was a love triangle, I was hoping for more of the triangle with both guys. However, the last hour and ending twist made up for it and then some. The narrators did a good job, especially, the female narrator. This audiobook was presented a little differently. It was written in first person all from Vivian‘s point of view. But the guys’ narrator’s voices were thrown in for their dialogue, instead of the female narrator making her voice sound like a male’s. An interesting way to present it. I can’t wait for the sequel to see how this triangle mess is going to turn out.

Historia
Once upon a time, there was a king who passed. He left behind two sons, one beloved and one outcast. The older of the two was set to take the throne, but before he could, he had to find a queen to call his own. The younger one was known to be unruly and unhinged. The chosen queen was warned to keep far away from him. Beautiful and cunning, in the light is where she stayed. But late at night, it was the shadowed lands in which she played. Mistakes were made and secrets forged; forgetting duty and her sense. And while the new king had her hand, her heart belonged to the scarred prince.

Interesting take on The Lion King
Revisado: 11-14-24
3.5 Pride Land stars
This was an interest take on The Lion King. I liked the aspects the author used from the traditional story. But also made the story her own. The story stands out on its own more than a retelling. I love romance, but I thought most of the sex scenes in this one were unnecessary. I’m not prude. I was a huge fan of 50 Shades. I just prefer not such dark, graphic sex. I rather some details be left to the imagination. I was here for the plot. Loved the ending with the True King being his nephew of mixed heritage. It added a nice touch. Thus far, Hexed is still my favorite in the series. Looking forward to listening to Crossed next.

Historia
Venesa Andersen has never been good. She wasn't good enough for her parents, and she isn't good enough for the gangster uncle who took her in after they died. But she's cunning. Beautiful. Dutiful to her uncle's demands. And she doesn't have time for a moral compass, anyway. When her runaway cousin returns to their coastal southern town, she brings a man with her . . . and Venesa soon realizes he's the only one who's ever seen her for her. There's just one problem: she can never have him.

Great Dark Romance With A Twist of Little Mermaid
Revisado: 11-08-24
The narration from both narrators was fantastic.
Especially, the male narrator. I loved his accent. Enzo, the main male character, was sexy and entertaining. He had me cracking up. I liked the plot of this book. It was captivating. It was creative how the author loosely took some concepts from The Little Mermaid and made the story her own. The Little Mermaid is my favorite fairytale.

My favorite YA mystery thriller
Revisado: 11-13-23
This book sucked me in from the very 1st page. I was excited to see that it was an audiobook, because I was on the edge of my seat. When I read the e-book several years ago it has the perfect amount of mystery and suspense to keep you guessing. Hearing the attorney told him if he article version was even better. The narrator was great! Jennifer Armentrout is one of my favorite authors and can’t many people tell a story like she can.

Holy Alien Babies
Revisado: 11-04-23
Jennifer never disappoints. The sequel was better than the 1st book in the Origin series. At 1st, I didn’t think this series would be able to hold a candle to Lux. But the author surprised me, This series is just as fantastic, and even more mysterious.
I loved the virus plot seeing Luc and Evie growing closer. They are my new favorite couple Luc is my new book boy friend. He’s arrogant, funny, and loves his woman like she’s the only person in the world. He’ll also fight to the death to protect the people he loves. Luc is just my type. I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds in book 3. Knowing Ms. Armentrout, it will be a wild ride. Her writing style and creative story telling are exceptional. She is my absolute favorite YA author.

Amazing spin-off!
Revisado: 09-19-23
This book was way better than I expected it to be. I’ve always liked Luc, but he really stood out in the book. I remembered the girl from his past and wondered why Evie was so important to him so quickly. After the twist of the year, it all started to make sense. I knew something was up with Evie’s past, but never imagined what it turned up to be. The twist was a doozie and really added depth to the story. Ms. Armentrout put a lot of thought into it. Best twist I’ve read this year. Lux is by far my favorite YA,,sci-fi series. I’m thrilled I get another run of my Lux fix again. The female narrator was fantastic and I can’t wait to start the sequel to see what’s in store next for Evie and Luc.

Well-done Audiobook full of suspense. Great narration with versatile voices for the characters. Very enjoyable to listen to. I was never a fan of the Arum until this story. Now I wish that the author will do other Arum stories.
