Historia
There's no place like home for the holidays ... especially for Lesley Carver. Life in the big city just wasn't her jam and now she's back in Hickory Falls, working at the family diner and helping her mom after she took a tumble. Lesley longs to build a life here, working at the cafe, selling her handmade ornaments and ... er, apparently reviving her high school crush on her best friend’s older brother. Only one problem, her mom wants her to leave Hickory Falls far behind.

Love
Revisado: 12-16-24
I LOVED THIS STORY!! This was such a great book! I love to hear audiobooks that have two authors and especially those that bring life to the stories!! This was such a fun Christmas story… the made up love story that flourished into what Leslie and Jamal needed…I’m so glad it happened or else who knows if those two would have ever made the leap! Pop-pops story telling was like icing on the cake. And the overall message of how love brings people together and can soften even the hardest of hearts or meanest of people (the news reporter)…well done Michelle and well done to the narrators too!!

Unconditional Love
Revisado: 10-11-24
Can I just say I absolutely loved this book?!
From the beginning to the end, I was drawn in and felt like I was a part of the family hearing how Diane had to deal with the death of her sister, and thinking that it was her fault for all those years, and then see the pain as she endured, and at her mother, not protecting her when the boyfriend accused her of killing her sister… I mean WOW! This book, their story really brings the light how childhood traumas neglect dealt with issues catapult into a lifelong downward spiral. And then to top it off, Yolanda‘s apparent OCD… as a goes on, you realize that this was also result of childhood problems, not known or dealt with. The blessing comes when you talk to God and allow Him to show you “you”. I’m so thankful that she allow God to speak to her and she opened up her heart to being loved. That’s another thing that that you saw from the story is how and once attempt to protect the family or children… they inadvertently instill some very troubling and sometimes disabling qualities. But again, God shows up to help you “see” the incorrect upbringings and helps you to search for the truth, thereby bringing with it freedom, deliverance, and restoration. I could relate to her story about her father and even how she found out about him. I wish I had been given the opportunity to meet my biological father… but I’m also thankful for the spiritual father God gave me. I can relate to Regina and her eating disorder thankfully has not caused me the same mental health issues that she had, however in listening to this book, I was also able to recognize my issue as well. My hand goes off to the author and publisher in choosing the narrator because she was amazing. She really helped bring the story to life, and the way she was able to change her voice to each character throughout the story should be commended, b/c they got them so well. To the narrator I say THANK YOU! I appreciate you and the amazing work you do….to the author of this book, Ms. Michelle, another great story again I say THANK YOU, and job well done!

Historia
In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side and shared ambitions and sorrows. Chicken Hill was where Moshe and Chona Ludlow lived when Moshe integrated his theater and where Chona ran the Heaven & Earth Grocery Store.

No matter what our backgrounds are, we all have the same goals in mind. To live, to love, to be happy, and to succeed.
Revisado: 04-11-24
Good ALWAYS outweighs evil, love covers a multitude of sins, and what’s done in the dark will come to light.
While I truly enjoyed the book, I didn’t care for the use of “N” in reference to the black people in the story. My favorite person was Ms. Shona; she share a love for all people, no matter their race or background. I also like the protective Nate and the caring Addy as well. There were a couple parts that I had to fast forward on d/t the details involved, but I appreciated the author’s strive to make readers aware of what occurred during those times. The author really draws you in so deep that you don’t even realize just how much you’ve become connected to the characters.
I actually purchased the book based on the title alone thinking it was a Christian fiction novel however I learned much later that it was not. I’m glad to have read this through!

EVERYTHING!!
Revisado: 12-11-23
As a lover of all things Vanessa Miller and Christian fiction, I have always loved how she takes every opportunity to bring the reader back to what’s most important, a relationship with Jesus!! This was my first time ever listening to her book and let me tell you, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! To tell you the truth I think I’m going to going to try to find more audiobooks of hers!!
The twister in the book really floored me!! TRULY was not expecting that one…..BUT the story of redemption and relational restoration is always a beautiful story!! I’ve seen how the effects of hurt, pain, dissatisfaction, etc affects people. I’ve seen it’s affect on both people that I hold very dear to my heart and those that I care about. The statement made by the daughter of one of the characters about the internal effects anger has on our bodies is so true. People don’t understand how much anger and depression affects our physical health, and sad to say, it can even lead to an early death.
Thank you Vanessa for this story and all the otters you’ve so artistically penned regarding our spiritual journeys. Thank you for listening to the Voice of God and allowing Him to lead and guide you every step of the way. I appreciate you and your work!!

Handsome and successful in his own right, Dontae Marshall felt as if he had it all. Especially since he'd found the woman of his dreams and proposed marriage to her, with one stipulation - a stipulation that caused Jewel to hand the ring right back. Add to that the fact that his father is out of prison and he now has to face his feelings for the man who left him in his greatest hour of need. And if all of that wasn't enough, his long-held secret is about to be revealed.

Huh?!
Revisado: 09-08-22
I am an avid reader and lover of Vanessa Williams’ books. I have to say I couldn’t finish the book. I am very familiar with this series and have loved it as well. What I don’t like is the reader.
When I heard him trying to talk in a female voice and then his attempt to add a bit of romanticism in his voice with different parts…. I’m going to have to read this myself cuz the audiobook messes it up for me

Tiffany can't avoid being funny: it's just who she is. But The Last Black Unicorn is so much more than a side-splittingly hilarious collection of essays - it's a memoir of the struggles of one woman who came from nothing and nowhere. A woman who was able to achieve her dreams by reveling in her pain and awkwardness, showing the world who she really is, and inspiring others through the power of laughter.

Though I struggled at first to get over all the cursing, I truly enjoyed listening to her story. I appreciate her brutal honesty and for allowing us to peer into her life. Ms. Tiffany I thank you for being you!! I thank you for being honest and I appreciate your continued humbleness no matter how high in show business you get!! God bless you in everything you put your hands to!! I’m excitedly looking forward to your next work!!
