Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Historia
William Moore is a long way from home. A farm boy from Oklahoma, he's now the most well-respected member of the Irish rugby team. But appearances are often deceptive, and Will isn't the clean-cut, all-American good guy everyone imagines him to be. He's got a secret, one that will tarnish his reputation forever. Josey Kavanagh is a self-proclaimed mess, but she's finally getting her shi...uh, act together. She's set her sights on becoming a veterinarian, but there's one teeny tiny road bump. Her living arrangements are coming to an abrupt end, leaving Josey homeless and in need of a job.

Female Narrator 😔

I adore everything Penny Reid. She makes me laugh out loud and makes my commutes enjoyable. Paul Corning's narration of William was perfect. I wish I could say the same for Jennifer O'Brien. O'Brien had no transitions pauses, or real inflections in her performance. I struggled not to skip her chapters.

The author really got off track.

I struggled to finish this one. Jeffers racked up a ridiculous body count, cliche ramblings and unnecessary twists that were just boring. I admit to fast forwarding through several scenes.

Historia
In 1944, British bomber pilot Hugo Langley parachuted from his stricken plane into the verdant fields of German-occupied Tuscany. Badly wounded, he found refuge in a ruined monastery and in the arms of Sofia Bartoli. But the love that kindled between them was shaken by an irreversible betrayal. Nearly 30 years later, Hugo's estranged daughter, Joanna, has returned home to the English countryside to arrange her father's funeral. Among his personal effects is an unopened letter addressed to Sofia. In it is a startling revelation.

Great listen for a long road trip

I very much enjoyed the book and performances. My only issue with the writing was the over the top altruistic attitudes at the end of the story. I believe Hugo's final chapter was worth more in depth acknowledgment than it was given.
