Historia
After decades of research, world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset. In this brilliant book, she describes how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities. In this edition, Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concept. She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset.

Great book, very repetitive on the examples
Revisado: 07-31-24
great book, very repetitive. We understand mentioning examples, this seemed to be most of the book. For the length of this book, it would have been beneficial to focus more the on actual tips and growth mindset techniques. (maybe they were in the book, just missed them with the numerous examples). I would still recommend this book to others, especially teacher's.

Historia
A lot of business books hold your hand, make you feel good, and are set to convince you that your passion and “unique” business idea are enough to plow through your competition, garner new leads, and make millions just because you can write a business plan that says so. This is not that kind of book. A 20-something hustler, rainmaker, and boot-strapper, Scott Gerber here shows you how to overcome today’s chronic conditions of mass unemployment, underemployment, and dead-end 9-to-5s.

This book could be 1/3 of the length. Some of us truly looking for guidance and idea's don't need to hear about the author's drawn out history.

When Cousins was hospitalized with a debilitating collagen illness, he decided to take his health into his own hands. Cousins and his doctor combated the disease together by creating a regimen of laughter and vitamin C specifically calibrated to his needs. Against all odds, the treatment worked, proving to Cousins that a positive attitude was key to his improvement.

You can Fight fire with Fire
Revisado: 08-10-21
The book was wonderful, I ended up buying the audible version as I was having trouble finishing my printed one, (my issue with reading/slow primarily) however after reading much of the book and then listening to it was superb.
My only thought was they're was an analogy that you cannot fight fire with fire, as a retired firefighter (both structural and wildland) and currently a fire instructor, this analogy is untrue. In the right setting (i.e. wildland fire) and with adequately trained personnel, a "backfire" has worked over and over to stop the oncoming flame front, thus you can fight fire with fire. I am not versed in his other analogies used, I trust they were researched and true. I am looking forward to listening to his next book.
