Historia
Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

I've read a dozen of his books and am a fan. I'll continue reading more but this was terrible and a boring trope.

Historia
The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

so so good
Revisado: 06-25-22
Malcom Gladwell is a name that will be remembered. He is not my favorite author, but I respect him as such. His work can feel like a perfect victory in potency, accuracy, and experience.
The Broken Windows Theory
Connectors, Mavens, Salesman
Epidemics (not just biological)
Rule of 150 People
These are big big concepts and I don’t know what to say about them. The book is simply a must-read and these are my notes to help me remember and maybe trigger a memory of someone sharing with you to entice your reading it.

Historia
In 2020, the American economy suffered the biggest financial collapse in history. But while Main Street suffered like never before, the stock market continued to reach new highs. How could this be? The answer is that government had slapped oppressive restrictions on small businesses while propping up Wall Street and engineering a historic consolidation of power and wealth. In The War on Small Business, entrepreneur Carol Roth unveils the many abuses of power inflicted on small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Could Be Better
Revisado: 11-15-21
There were great ideas in here, but I wanted more details. An example would be about the dairy mountain because my wife is reading Salt Sugar Fat and we both found it interesting. It’s really just mentioned though with little explanation or relevant facts. What it does not lack is anxiousness and fuming frustration. I like Carol Roth and what she stands for. There is value in reading this, but you may find better, more succinct ideas elsewhere.

simply beautiful
Revisado: 09-13-21
This is a page turner. The story is simple and yet I couldn’t stop discovering it at times. I learned about Alaskan, a mother’s love, and child birth. This serves as a great reminder to the rampant alcoholism of the 70’s, the toll of smoking, and what war does to those naive enough to participate willingly or those poor souls that do so unwillingly. The best part was the brilliant perspective at the end connecting terrifying dangers like abduction to the Alaskan expectation of danger and possessing what’s required to survive and thrive. I’ll keep this as a great disillusionment.

Get to the point
Revisado: 04-22-21
This book feels like an unproductive meeting that could have been an email. I think this encapsulates the ubiquitous deficit in application of the project management process. There’s even a click and a few spoken words repeated in the first chapter. This demonstrates the unproven pridefulness of the discipline to not be bothered to thoroughly review.

Exercise is health-enhancing and life-extending, yet many of us feel it's a chore. But as Kelly McGonigal reveals, it doesn't have to be. Movement can and should be a source of joy. Through her trademark blend of science and storytelling, McGonigal draws on insights from neuroscience, psychology, anthropology, and evolutionary biology, as well as memoirs, ethnographies, and philosophers. She shows how movement is intertwined with some of the most basic human joys, including self-expression, social connection, and mastery.

Essential and Interesting
Revisado: 08-18-20
There are some really important things that everyone would be better off knowing in the book. It’s amazing that the most important organ of the body, the one that makes us us, is not given the urgency and emphasis it deserves in American culture. What makes this book special isn’t just the information and useful application suggestions, but that it’s interesting and fun. The author makes you excited to hear because he’s excited to tell it.

Historia
Cracking the communication code between husband and wife involves understanding one thing: that unconditional respect is as powerful for him as unconditional love is for her. It's the secret to marriage that every couple seeks, and yet few couples ever find. While both men and women deserve both love and respect, in the midst of conflict the driving need for a woman is love and the driving need for a man is respect. When either of these needs isn’t met, things get crazy. Based on over three decades of counseling, as well as scientific and biblical research, Love and Respect is for anyone.

Incredible Concept
Revisado: 05-13-20
The concept is huge. It’s true. It’s essential. And it could probably be conveyed for men in an hour. I wouldn’t have finished if my wife hadn’t suggested the faster listening speed. His fake laugh is terrible and the awkwardness throughout drags. Still, there is a powerful message that everyone can benefit from. I wish I had learned it sooner.
