Historia
After Task Force Ember’s successful intervention in Ukraine, John Dempsey disappears without a trace—with no notice or explanation given to his teammates. Spotty intelligence eventually places him in Russia where he is rumored to have been captured by the Russian FSB and is now presumed dead. Mourning his loss, Ember is forced to pick up the pieces, restructure, and continue their mission of keeping America safe. As the president’s “go-to” black ops asset, Ember is directed to find and finish off the Russian spymaster Arkady Zhukov and any last remnants of Zeta cell.

This had better not be the last we hear/read of John Dempsey and his up and coming Seal son. I’m invested!

Historia
When shadow warrior and former Tier One Navy SEAL John Dempsey goes undercover to meet with a Vory arms dealer, he thinks he’s laying the groundwork to penetrate the Russian criminal underground. Instead, he walks into a trap orchestrated by Zeta, the secret Russian task force behind a recent assassination attempt on the US President. For Dempsey and his team, the only way out is to lay waste to the Russians, putting a target on Ember’s back.

At what point do they stop failing?
Revisado: 06-05-24
Look, I’m a fan of continued stories, and as a former MARSOC vet I realize there are operational setbacks that happen now and again. But for an elite task force, Ember sure does do some dumb! This many books in and their intel is still half-cocked?
Start rounding out the stories, sir. Entertaining as it may be, I’m losing faith in the abilities of Kelso Jarvis and John Dempsey.

Historia
Nothing stops former Navy SEAL and Tier One operator John Dempsey from answering the call of duty - including a mission with the highest stakes he's ever faced. When one of the most brazen and lethal acts of terrorism rocks American and Israeli intelligence forces at the highest levels, Dempsey's ultracovert antiterror unit, Ember, mobilizes. But this operation isn't just a retaliatory strike by Ember; it's a mission of vengeance for Dempsey.

Great story, marginal narration
Revisado: 03-10-22
Very nice adventure story with lots of diving. Still struggling with the narrator, but she’s better in this book than the first. Quick, easy read (listen) that pulls you in quickly and holds the reader until the last word.

Historia
On a foggy July evening in 1956, the Italian cruise liner Andrea Doria, bound for New York, was struck broadside by another vessel. In eleven hours, she would sink nearly 250 feet to the murky Atlantic Ocean floor. Thanks to a daring rescue operation, only 51 of more than 1,700 people died in the tragedy. But the Andrea Doria is still taking lives. Considered the Mt. Everest of diving, the Andrea Doria is the ultimate deepwater wreck challenge.

A must read for every deep diver
Revisado: 10-20-19
It’s not all glory. 46 people lost their lives in the collision that sank the Doria: at least 22 deaths more are attributed to diving her. Considered the Mount Everest of diving, the Doria is not the deepest wreck, but the technical aspects of the boat’s location, currents, depth, and visibility has made her one of the most difficult wrecks to dive.
This book also covers many stories about the Doria from the perspective of the crew of the Seeker, one of the two main charters diving the Doria at this time. As well as a fairly thorough history of diving and the human foray into the black depths of the ocean, Deep Descent is good as a stand-alone read, but even better as part of a more robust understanding of not just diving, but of the skills and mindset of the deep diver.
