Glad to see story line continue but...

I am happy to see the continuation of the story line But I also can see a huge difference in Greaney vs. Blackwood. Greaney I feel gives the characters that are more consistent with their continual development. Blackwood I feel his characters stray from...well... Character. I will read them to continue the timeline but I really just look forward to the Greaney releases now.

Great story. Narrators voices fitting. The read speed?

I thought the story was great, engaging and informative. The narrators' voices were pleasant and fitting. The speed that they read the story was ridiculous. I had to check twice to ensure that I had not accidentally increased the playback speed. I was sure when the book started that I had accident lay changed it to 1.5 or 2x normal playback. Took awhile but I got used to it. Otherwise a great read.

Great story. Narration ehh.

The story was great well written a typical servings book in the series she the it's a lot of foundation being built for future books. The only real issue I had was with the narration. I now understand some of the issues other reviewers had mentioned. The military personal always seemed on the verge of crying and panic whenever they ran into a hint of any stressor. Having spent my time as a crunchy in the US army I will say. I didn't know anyone in my unit that cracked like this at just the slightest hint of danger or trouble. Made those parts a little annoying to listen to.

This as all his other works have been amazingly fun reads. The author clearly is familiar with the workings of military life that lend an authentic air to the story as a whole.

Worth the time, an excellent read.

I was expecting a spin on The Final Countdown. This series definitely was a different take on things. An excellent well thought out book.

I have to say that I bought this book because I was just looking for something to fill the void since I had already listened to all the books put out by my favorite authors. I thought the description sounded as though it might be somewhat entertaining. I must now say that Larry Correia has now moved into my list of favorite authors. If you are a Jim Butcher or Simon Green fan than you must get this book. Don't let the description fool you, after reading I think they could have done a much better job in the book description than they did. Great Read.

GIve Glover a chance

I am a big fan of marsters he is definitely the reader I associate with dresden, if he is unavailable he is unavailable. I think as an alternative reader they would have had trouble finding better, suitable replacement. Ghost story is of course a great read and continuation to the dresden saga. Most of the negative I had read regarding this book were that Glover was narrating. I admit I did hesitate, but decided to be fair and listen with an open mind. I actually made it a point to listen to several other books first so as to clear my head of Marsters and then listen to Glover's narration. It was a great read/listen. Great job. Would I like to hear this story narrated by marsters...Yes, and I will probably buy that version too if it is ever done. If you can live without marsters doing dresden then give this book a try.
