Historia
From a unique new talent comes a fast-paced debut, introducing a heroine whose dark visions bring to light secrets that will heal or destroy those around her...When New York journalist and recently bereaved mother Charlotte “Charlie” Cates begins to experience vivid dreams about children in danger, she’s sure that she’s lost her mind. Yet these are not the nightmares of a grieving parent. They are warnings that will help Charlie and the children she sees, if only she can make sense of them.

Emotional
Revisado: 12-12-23
Never in my life would I thought a fiction book would make me cry, but this one did. I cried listening to nonfiction, Minka Kelly’s book. It was predictable, but it still managed to make me weep. I liked the ending, even if it was sorta predictable.

Historia
One year ago, Isabelle Drake's life changed forever: her toddler son, Mason, was taken out of his crib in the middle of the night while she and her husband were asleep in the next room. With little evidence and few leads for the police to chase, the case quickly went cold. However, Isabelle cannot rest until Mason is returned to her—literally. Except for the occasional catnap or small blackout where she loses track of time, she hasn’t slept in a year. Isabelle's entire existence now revolves around finding him, but she knows she can’t go on this way forever.

A bit underwhelming compared to her previous book
Revisado: 07-02-23
This book was good, but it wasn’t at par with a flicker in the dark. It was kinda boring, & long. I wish they delved more into how her postpartum depression went, & when she beat up the cashier at the supermarket.
This narrator needs to stop doing man voices, it’s so cringy I can’t! She also needs to stop making that almost about to cry voice.

If you love True Detective S1, you’ll love this!
Revisado: 06-14-23
This was a fantastic book, it had twists & turns. I enjoyed it. It has the same vibes as True Detective S1, which is an absolute masterpiece of a show
The narration on the other hand sucked! Why does she do male voices? It sounds funny! It was annoying too, she could just read it in a regular voice, or they could get a male reader as well.

Historia
Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly.

Great book,bad narration.

The narrator annoys me when she does the men’s voices, she sounds like smeagol from Lord of The Rings. Why does she talked in such a strained voice?it’s like she’s horribly constipated.

For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

I don’t get the hype
Revisado: 09-06-22
I don’t really get the hype over this book,it’s boring as hell!& I’m sorry but the narrator made me take the book less seriously, especially when she read kya’s lines.Idk why she spoke like a whiny southern bell in a Disney movie,it annoyed me & made me laugh at the same time from how ridiculous it sounded.I don’t recommend this book,it took me about a year to finish it.The only reason I went back to it was because I had laser eye surgery,& I can’t look at screens so this is my only form of entertainment. Also, her success is completely unrealistic. An illiterate suddenly became a famous bilogist??that’s incredulous.I mean it would make more sense that she learned how to read, write,& then maybe got a job at a facility as a janitor or receptionist or something.Maybe there someone took them under their wing and helped her out a bit. That sounds much more realistic than this!

Boring
Revisado: 01-05-20
It was good in the beginning, but it started to sound like a poorly written fan fiction towards the end,I didn’t even finish it that’s how bored I got.
