There are definitely some common sense, you’ll figure out what works for you, kind of tips in this piece, but there are several great tips. I think most will be able to benefit from a at least few of these, especially when you’re a new parent for the first time.

Throughout about the first two-thirds of the book, John appears to talk to fathers-to-be as if they are all careless and incompetent beings, as if they know little to nothing about anything and need to be told what it means to be an informed and caring partner. The content also doesn’t appear to be all that structured. However, the majority of the useful content in here is fresh and original and is worth hearing for tips leading up to childbirth.

Excellent content

As a first time soon-to-be father, there was definitely a lot I didn’t know about pregnancy and what to expect. This humorous yet informative take from a father’s perspective is refreshing and has allowed me to approach my wife’s pregnancy and other’s reactions to it from a slightly different angle. Nonetheless, I think this would be a must read for expectant fathers regardless of experience.

Solid story

Although a lot of what’s in the book is quite cliché, it’s that way for a reason. I think a lot of what most say about self-discipline is quite true, though everyone is going to have to find their own unique way. What I am a bit disappointed about is the narrator. I would think someone telling a story to motivate you would be somewhat lively and seemingly passionate - he isn’t - but I think he still delivers the message fair enough.

Great piece of work

This book is excellent. Speaking as someone that’s good and quick with numbers, I think the author runs through them a bit quick at times. Nonetheless, it’s a pretty thorough overview of the stock market, as I hope one would expect. It might actually be a bit overwhelming for someone completely new to this topic, but I think it’s an excellent resource.

Simple and inspiring

Mr. Maxwell does yet another tremendous job in this piece of work. The laws are easy to follow and enlightening to hear and learn about. A must-read for all seeking development in probably just about any aspect in their lives!

I give this audiobook 4 stars because although it’s got great content, it may actually go on for longer than it needs to due to its repetitiveness. It’s still very much worth a listen for a different take on influence, especially if you haven’t read/heard many pieces on the subject before.

Plain and simple

John Maxwell tells a great story in this audiobook. I think some laws were perhaps obvious or just not laws at all, while I would’ve liked for more elaboration on others. Nonetheless, it’s a good, quick listen for any interested in developing their leadership abilities.

Good resource

This is a good piece of work. It’s quite quick and hard to really capture the full impact without stopping for a moment after some of the “magic words” and taking some tome to process the information and think of situations that haven’t been presented. Nonetheless, it’s a quick listen and probably worth hearing a few times to learn from and become more creative with these tools. I’m sure it’s easier said then done to put these “magic words” into practiced but I think listening is a good start.

Wonderful yet simple narrative

There is nothing unusual about this book. Essentially all of its message and more have been shared in several other sales books and general business books - they are valuable messages nonetheless. I’d say it’s more an inspirational pep talk than a book on selling. However, the storytelling is excellent and the wording quite beautiful. It’s likely worth a moment of your time.
