Historia
The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

Historia
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

Angry white man fantasy
Revisado: 01-01-23
Ray Porter was great as usual but the author's biases shine through. Writers always have their biases but this is a bit much. I'm actually shocked that the ratings are so high. I finish most books that I start but couldn't make it through this one. This just reeks of upper middle aged white man's stereotypes about every gender or race that isn't his. From the big boobed blonde journalist that looks just like a news anchor should, to him getting into the car of his black teammate and he is jarred by blarring hip hop. Mexican gang bangers hired to kill him and his family but not smart enough to even check to see if he was home before shooting up the house. The top military brass is horrible because he is a Liberal Democrat that "prioritizes diversity over getting the job done". Reese is basically the a super hero character for the Oath Keepers. Yeah ill take my refund and find me another Ray Porter narrated book that is worthy of his voice.

Historia
From 1915 to 1970, this exodus of almost six million people changed the face of America. Wilkerson compares this epic migration to the migrations of other peoples in history. She interviewed more than a thousand people, and gained access to new data and official records, to write this definitive and vividly dramatic account of how these American journeys unfolded, altering our cities, our country, and ourselves.

if you live in America this is a must read. you can't truly understand the complexity of the issues that face current day if you don't fully understand how we got here. these are the often overlooked stories of the people who built and shaped our country

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.
