Historia
Earth failed. In a desperate bid to escape, the spaceship Enkidu and its captain, Heorest Holt, carried its precious human cargo to a potential new paradise. Generations later, this fragile colony has managed to survive, eking out a hardy existence. Yet life is tough, and much technological knowledge has been lost. Then strangers appear. They possess unparalleled knowledge and thrilling technology–and they've arrived from another world to help humanity’s colonies. But not all is as it seems, and the price of the strangers' help may be the colony itself.

Amazingly complex
Revisado: 01-15-24
I don’t need complexity in my Sci fi, but Tchaikovsky weaved a web (pun intended) so masterfully, I cant help but marvel at it. I felt all the ups and downs of the characters and was jarred every time a new revelation came to them. This may be one of my favorite books I’ve ever read and definitely the best in several years. Another reviewer said they couldn’t even describe what they just read and I absolutely agree. There is no way to sum it up well and that is kinda the point, isn’t it? I will say this, anyone who likes hard sci-fi that explores the philosophical questions of sentience and reality will LOVE this book. I cannot recommend it enough.

Historia
The Colour of Magic, the first novel in Terry Pratchett's wildly imaginative Discworld series, takes the listener on a remarkable journey. The magical planet of Discworld is supported by four massive elephants who stand on the back of the Great A'Tuin, a giant turtle swimming slowly through the mysterious interstellar gulf. An eccentric expedition sets out to explore the planet, encountering dragons who only exist if you believe in them, and, of course, 'The Edge' of the planet.

Bad/old audio quality
Revisado: 06-13-22
This seems to be an old recording spliced together for audible. The quality of the audio recording itself was very scratchy and uneven. The added effects put on the narrator’s voice made it difficult to understand what he was saying. And then there were times when the narrator would change perspective and there was no pause or break to indicate that this was a different scene entirely which made it very confusing. Overall, the narrator himself did a decent job with voices and the British affect. However, if given an option, I would definitely not choose him again.

Historia
As fandom sheds its longtime stigmas of geekiness and hysteria, fans are demanding more from the celebrities and brands they love. Digital tools have given all organizations - from traditional businesses to tech start-ups - direct, real-time access to their most devoted consumers, and it's easy to forget that this access flows both ways.

An interesting insight to fandoms
Revisado: 06-03-22
This book provides interesting history to certain fandoms ( history of Renaissance Fairs, the attempts to revive Polaroid instant film etc.). It’s worth reading for those tidbits.
It does not reveal new insights in regards to the overall social, emotional, marketing, and economic impact of fandoms. But I really enjoyed the specific examples used in support of their claims.
