Historia
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

Lost Man
Revisado: 08-31-22
He found suffering - but his suffering never lead him to He who suffered more. I really thought David would find the Suffering Christ through all his personal suffering.
That being said, great book. Great story.

He’s definitely not a religious man.
Revisado: 05-27-22
I will first say, if you can handle being Spoken to like a three year old child - EVERYONE should read this book.
My first beef is there is absolutely NO advise, or fasting plans he offers outside of his clinic - which I will gladly attend if needed. He talks about 8 day, 21 day, and 40 day fast that can, apparently, only be accomplished in his clinic?
He’s a bit pompous, and thinks he’s a philosopher and anthropologist. The author is a full blow atheist, and sees the wonders of the body strictly through the eyes of the most militant evolutionists.
A Christian would have written the same book - but attributed the wonders of the body’s own healing capabilities to the Creator.
Darwin observed, and promoted the ‘theory’ of evolution. He never said you and the squash were cousins. This writer has more faith in Dockins, and the other three horsemen than I have in Jesus!
But because of the detailed, never ending, delivery of explanations as to how the body works - I have completed 1-24, 1-3 day, and 1-4day fast (@ 63). I feel empowered.

Historia
Molly Gray is not like everyone else. She struggles with social skills and misreads the intentions of others. Her gran used to interpret the world for her, codifying it into simple rules that Molly could live by. Since Gran died a few months ago, twenty-five-year-old Molly has been navigating life’s complexities all by herself. No matter—she throws herself with gusto into her work as a hotel maid. Her unique character, along with her obsessive love of cleaning and proper etiquette, make her an ideal fit for the job.

Not my usual type of book. I took a chance, and Molly is incredibly interesting, and unpredictable. You will not be able to figure out the conclusion of this one - you will be surprised.

Historia
We aspire to live in a country where old men are celebrated as vital elders but not demeaned if they become ill and dependent. We aspire to maintain health as well as maintain dignity and fulfillment in frailty. Old Man Country helps listeners see and imagine these possibilities for themselves. The audiobook follows the journey of a writer in search of wisdom, as he encounters 12 distinguished American men over 80 - including Paul Volcker, the former head of the Federal Reserve, and Denton Cooley, the world's most famous heart surgeon.

Atheist Trying to Explain Old Age
Revisado: 10-25-21
I got as far as chapter two. I thought I would receive one man’s take on old age - but it’s more of a ecumenical brake with traditional thought regarding the meaning of an old man’s life.
Sorry, I still don’t equate atheism with wisdom. Nothing to see here folks.

Historia
Whatever the form, whatever the treat - sugar drives us wild like nothing else. It’s lingered on our tongues for millennia and found its way into almost every household in the world. Alas, the history of sugar is far from sweet. Long before it was linked to America’s obesity epidemic, sugar was fueling the dark forces of exploitation, colonization, conquest, and slavery. More than just candy and cake, sugar has drastically altered the diets, cultures, and economies of the modern world. How can we love sugar while having a healthy relationship with its bittersweet history?

European Bashing
Revisado: 10-23-21
What starts out as a history of Sugar- quickly turns into an anti European, Capitalism, Catholic bias. Sugar is merely the frosting on a bitter cake.
I made it through the second lecture, until it became clear that dark raises are good and white raises are bad.

Historia
When Elizabeth Bennet first knew Mr. Darcy, she despised him and was sure he felt the same. Angered by his pride and reserve, influenced by the lies of the charming Mr. Wickham, she never troubled herself to believe he was anything other than the worst of men - until, one day, he unexpectedly proposed. Mr. Darcy's passionate avowal of love causes Elizabeth to reevaluate everything she thought she knew about him.

I have been ruined for life!
Revisado: 10-08-21
This departure from Pride and Prejudice, at the proposal of marriage from Darcy to Elizabeth, will be indelibly forged in my mind from these day forward.
The dialog between Darcy and Lizy is never to be forgotten. I could not stop listening, nor did I wish too, from start to finish.
Along with Darcy, truly, I am a better man, and this author, like Jane Austen, has made me marvel, again, at the wit, wisdom, and insights of the opposite sex.

Historia
In Cancer Is Not a Disease!, best-selling author and internationally acclaimed health expert Andreas Moritz argues that cancer is the physical symptom of the body’s final attempt to eliminate specific life-destructive causes. He claims that removing such causes sets the precondition for complete healing of the body, mind, and emotions. This book confronts you with a radically new understanding of cancer - one that outdates the current cancer model.

Traditional Catholic Perspective
Revisado: 02-22-21
I avoided this book for several years. What does O’Riley know about true ‘Christian’ history? Turns out, more than me.
I was riveted, learned things I thought I knew, and my Faith in Jesus Christ was empowered.
I though to myself, that’s right, Jesus sentenced Himself to a gruesome death on the Cross when He entered Jerusalem on a donkey; KNOWING the man who did so would be signing his own death warrant.
