Historia
It’s 1942, and London remains under constant threat of enemy attack as the second world war rages on. In the Bethnal Green neighborhood, Nellie Morris counts every day lucky that she emerges from the underground shelters unharmed, her loving family still surrounding her. Three years into the war, she’s grateful to hold onto remnants of normalcy—her job as assisting the mayor and nights spent at the local pub with her best friend. But after a chance encounter with Ray, an American airman stationed nearby, Nellie becomes enchanted with the idea of a broader world.

Chocked full of delights
Revisado: 09-28-23
Thrilled that Millie Bobby Brown narrated and shared this family story, giving an immersive experience into British civilian life during WWII. Loved her use of accents and expressions which kept the characters realistic and added to the tug at our hearts as we too experienced these worlds collide in war and in love. She’s too adorable, and this story makes you glad to be alive.

Historia
Thomas Johnson and Charles Spurgeon lived worlds apart: Johnson, an American slave, born into captivity and longing for freedom and Spurgeon, an Englishman born into relative ease and comfort but, longing, too, for a freedom of his own. Their respective journeys led to an unlikely meeting and an even more unlikely friendship, forged by fate and mutual love for the mission of Christ. Steal Away Home tells a previously untold story set in the 1800s of the relationship between an African-American missionary and one of the greatest preachers to ever live.

Inspiring
Revisado: 04-22-23
Each man’s tale recounted in this book inspires a life of purpose: one that can only be obtained by the realization of the power of placing one’s own inadequacies in the hands of the Almighty.
Well read, this hopeful book will leave you encouraged and determined to life a life that inspires others as well.
