Historia
Thank you for selecting Wine Talks on your journey to learning about wine. We know that the most effective learning and appreciation comes through interactions. Rather than craft a book of written words on wine, of which there are many, we have opted to educate you through live conversations. We discuss wine from many angles so you'll walk away with a solid grasp on how it's made and how to buy it, all the way to how to taste for maximum enjoyment.

Helpful, relatable overview. Learned a lot and enjoyed doing it. Anecdotes made this stickier. Would recommend.

Surviving through her smarts and street scams, Aliyah struggles to get by until she loses big time to a mysterious older man, Gavin Banks. Her only option to repay Banks is to become an Assassin. During her training, Banks tells Aliyah of the centuries-old battle between the Assassins and Templars, imploring her to help him decode a secret message inscribed on an illegal form of currency during the Great Recoinage of 1696.

Disappointing

I appreciate that Audible is bringing out more productions with full cast, score, and sound design. Some are good, but this is a miss.

Historia
One of the great fears many of us face is that despite all our effort and striving, we will discover at the end that we have wasted our life. In A Guide to the Good Life, William B. Irvine plumbs the wisdom of Stoic philosophy, one of the most popular and successful schools of thought in ancient Rome, and shows how its insight and advice are still remarkably applicable to modern lives. In A Guide to the Good Life, Irvine offers a refreshing presentation of Stoicism, showing how this ancient philosophy can still direct us toward a better life.

Historia
Fresh from Afghanistan, James Bond has been recruited to a new agency. Conceived in the post-9/11 world, it operates independent of Five, Six and the MoD, its very existence deniable. Its aim: to protect the Realm, by any means necessary. The Night Action alert calls Bond from dinner with a beautiful woman. GCHQ has decrypted an electronic whisper about an attack scheduled for later in the week: casualties estimated in the thousands, British interests adversely affected.

Low-energy narration, questionable pronunciation
Revisado: 11-20-18
The narrator is far more lethargic than would seem best for an action novel. Having heard all the Grey Man novels, I find the contrast marked and unfortunate, as the source material is stylish. This book's narrator is British, which is, of course, desirable, but may be the cause of at least one pronunciation that seems curious. I am only a novice with guns, but I've always heard .40 caliber (calibre in the book, naturally) simply pronounced "forty caliber" or "forty cal;" the narrator says "point-four-oh calibre." Maybe the narrator's pronunciation is the right one for England (I live in the USA), but if not it seems like a glaring error for a book where guns are so important as to almost be characters. This is especially true for the iconic Walthers, notwithstanding that in Carte Blanche, for the first time, Bond carries a .40 Walther PPS instead of the PPK helped to fame by its appearance in most of the Bond films.

Partly because of this book I chose a molecular and cellular grad program. I am inspired. Via sync, I’ve gone through the print and audio versions several times and will do more. It’s a favorite. Get it, or get the Kindle version for just 99 cents and then add the audio, as you’ll often want to jump on a device, see passages, and search to see more for yourself. IV is the bleeding edge; the first clean meat conference was just two weeks ago. Get this.

Disappointing, but with potential.
Revisado: 05-24-18
The narrator reads entire urls and tables (and he also often reads elements by their abbreviations instead of just saying their names), although he has a listenable voice and perfect delivery. Reading tables and urls fluffs the already-minimal content; beyond the fluff, there is probably only about 3 hours of content, which isn't enough to merit paying a credit. However, that content is incisive and helpful. The author has good insight, so I would love it if she updated and expanded this book and/or created more chemistry audiobooks (such as on biochemistry), and I would probably buy them.

One of the best credits I've spent!
Revisado: 01-28-18
I have no connection to this person; I just love his stuff. I hate that I've heard almost all of this, but after I've finished I'm going to listen to it again. Each part is immersive, like movie scenes, but also illustrative of various larger points. And I see that the same person has three other titles on Audible, so I'll probably check out some or all of those. The only reason I didn't give this five overall stars is that it doesn't promote the political positions I do, but for what it aims to do it couldn't be much better.
