Until her father acquires an assault rifle - and takes justice into his own outraged hands. Pretty good!
Revisado: 03-17-24
The narrator’s rendition of the characters was superb! I saw the movie nearly 30 years ago and decided to read the book. As always, the book is more thorough, but surprisingly I like how the movie rearranges one particular part. I won't spoil it though! Definitely will warn you- trigger alert for the first few chapters. They were hard for me to read. The descriptions are pretty in depth. Overall, if you have time, it's worth the read.

Historia
Call Me by Your Name first swept across the world in 2007. It is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents' cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. During the restless summer weeks, unrelenting but buried currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion as they test the charged ground between them and verge toward the one thing both already fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy.

Revisado: 10-07-21
Absolutely loved this book! The author put the story together so well. I’m not going to lie though, it took me some time to get over the never ending thoughts of angst from the narrator, but once I got over it, I fell in love. This is certainly a masterpiece. There are so many noteworthy quotes and lessons to be learned through this story. I even enlisted friends to read this just so that we could discuss the various topics presented throughout the text. Even days after reading this story, the characters are still with me. Definitely thankful for the experience! Wonderful 👏🏼

Enriched my soul
Revisado: 08-05-19
Oprah’s compilation of “aha” moments helped me to rethink how I manage/ perceive my current stressors and life in general. Sometimes, you need to take a step back and look again at what’s actually happening (I.e the full picture). Sometimes you need to remind yourself to be grateful and content in all things. And lastly, sometimes, we need to open our ears and hearts to what life is actually trying to communicate with us (via people, events, situations, etc.) If you listen closely, you’ll understand your purpose and be able to see your path clearly. I loved the audible version! I prefer listening to the authors voice and the presented guest. I actually want to buy the book to highlight or star the quotes or stories that I enjoyed most.

Easily the best book I've read this year!
Revisado: 08-31-17
Charlemagne is brutally honest and challenges you to never give up! Each of us has something special within us and we need to boldly live OUR own dreams. Although I do not identify with his childhood ( as no two people lead exactly the same life), there was much to be learned from his experiences and overall life journey. I was pleasantly surprised... and dare I say this, but I will probably re-read it and take notes!

I love the book! I think I got too used to the narrator in the first book though (which was great). Specifically, I didn't care for the women voices in the narration. The story was awesome though. On to book 3! Can't wait to see what Curtis is going to be up to,lol.
